Previously, Patrick held positions ranging from product to brand to campaign management at AlterPoint (acquired by Versata), BMC Software, and IBM Tivoli Software. Patrick has a BA in American Studies from Yale University.

Thomas Bittman is a vice president and distinguished analyst with Gartner Research. Mr. Bittman has led the industry in areas such as cloud computing and virtualization. Mr. Bittman was an early pioneer for the concept of private cloud computing, and invented the term "real-time infrastructure," which has been adopted by major vendors and many enterprises as their infrastructure direction. He has served as Gartner's lead analyst covering IBM and Microsoft, and he served for three years as a member of Gartner's Senior Research Board. In 2005, he earned Gartner's Analyst of the Year Award.

Having been with Gartner for more than 17 years, Michael Blechar is vice president and distinguished analyst in the Information Management Research area of Gartner's Research and Advisory Services. Mr. Blechar specializes in the area of metadata management/repositories, information and data services from a service-oriented architecture (SOA) perspective, master data management (MDM) design of services, data modeling tools, solution and application architecture roles and responsibilities, business and IT collaboration, information analysis and design, technology life cycle risks, and the IT Market Clock brand of Gartner research.

Larry Cable is a Chief Development Architect, based in SAP Labs Palo Alto, in the Technology & Innovation Platform Architecture group; where he focuses on Java and Cloud technologies. Before joining SAP, He was an Architect with the Java Platform Group within the Oracle Fusion Middleware organization. Prior to Oracle Corporation's acquisition of BEA Systems Inc; Larry was Chief Architect (VP) for WebLogic Server, WebLogic brand architect, and also a Corporate Architect within the Corporate Architecture Group, as part of the Office of the CTO at BEA Systems. Larry studied Computer Science in Scotland; in Edinburgh and St Andrews.

David Cearley is a vice president and Gartner Fellow in Gartner Research and is a leading authority on information technology. As a member of Gartner Research, Mr. Cearley analyzes emerging business and technology trends and explores how these trends shape the way individuals and companies derive value from technology. His current research is focused on cloud computing and how Internet and Web technologies, standards and business models are impacting the IT landscape.

Bill Clark is a research vice president in Gartner Research. His research agenda includes mobile software development, context-aware computing, the effect of mobile on business processes and workforces, mobile enterprise application platforms, mobile consumer application platforms, all types of wireless networks, smartphones, ruggedized PDAs, and location technologies.

Ronni Colville is a VP, distinguished analyst in the IT Operations Management group in Gartner Research. Ms. Colville's primary areas of research are configuration and release management, which include a broad array of technology topics, including (but not limited to) CMDB, server provisioning and configuration, IT service dependency mapping technologies, configuration auditing, patch management, and PC configuration management. Additionally, she covers virtualization and cloud management technologies for both servers (provisioning, configuration auditing, patching and so on) and PCs (HVD and application virtualization). Recently, Ms. Colville added coverage of devops with respect to application release automation. In addition to technologies, Ms. Colville covers both configuration and release management processes for production environments.

Herb Cunitz is Vice President of Worldwide Sales for VMware’s Cloud Application Platform division. Herb brings more than 20 years of experience building sales and sales management teams for enterprise software companies. Herb joined VMware through the acquisition of SpringSource where he was VP of worldwide sales. Prior to SpringSource, Herb brought two enterprise software companies through IPOs and both of these companies were within the top 15 IPO’s of their respective years. Herb has an MBA in Finance from New York University Stern School of Business and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University in New York.

As Adobe's Senior Director of Product Management & Marketing for Interactive Development, Greg leads the PM teams responsible for Adobe's developer tools for both HTML and Flash, including Dreamweaver, Edge, PhoneGap, Flash Professional, Flash Builder, as well as the Flash runtime and the company's contributions to WebKit. He joined Adobe in 2008 and previously worked at Microsoft where, during his 9 year tenure, he held a variety of positions including leading the team responsible for the design of such highly successful developers tools as Visual C++ and the first version of Visual C#. He also worked for 6 years at the independent analyst firm Directions on Microsoft where he analyzed and wrote extensively about developer platforms and tools.

Eric Doyle is the Director of Marketing for Intel’s Data Center line of business. Eric is responsible for Data Center sales and marketing in the Americas covering the US, Canada and Latin America. Eric’s primary responsibility focuses on Data Center technologies including servers, storage and networking. In addition, Eric works with the Data Center software ecosystem to enable and enhance enterprise software solutions on the Intel Architecture. Doyle has been with Intel for 16 years in a variety of management roles in marketing and business development in Intel’s client, workstations and services businesses, as well as multi-year assignment as Intel’s Worldwide Director of Financial Services. Prior to Intel, Doyle was the worldwide license manager for Mentor Graphics Corporation. Doyle earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology.

Alexander Drobik is the group team manager of the Business Applications and Processes research team. This global team researches how business needs are supported by the deployment of enterprise applications; for example, enterprise resources and planning (particularly financials, human resources and procurement) and customer relationship management.

Jim Duggan is a Gartner Research vice president, focusing on application development. He covers tools and methodologies for analysis, design, quality assurance, and software configuration and change management. He has focus areas in application portfolio management and software change and configuration management.

Ian Finley researches how new categories of developers, including citizen developers and apptrepreneurs, create new opportunities and challenges for traditional IT groups.

Ted Friedman is a vice president in Gartner Research, where he is a member of the Information Management team. His research focuses on data integration, data quality, information governance and information management strategy.

Mr. Garza’s entire 43 year career has been involved in software development for the Information Technology and Telecommunications industry. He has implemented Information Solutions and Telecommunications solutions for Fortune 1000 in the United States and 28 other countries. Mr. Garza holds a variety of certificates in software engineering, software language development and expertise on a variety of computer hardware and software platforms. Previous positions held include Director Information Technology, Telecommunications and Application Development, Director Research and Development, as well as Systems Engineer, Systems Analyst and Programmer Analyst.

Dennis Gaughan is a managing VP within the Enterprise Software research team, focusing on enterprise applications. His research focus is on the enabling technologies that support those enterprise applications, including application integration and B2B infrastructure.

Melvin Greer is Senior Fellow and Chief Strategist, Cloud Computing Lockheed Martin. With over 25 years of systems and software engineering experience, he is a recognized expert in Service Oriented Architecture and Cloud Computing. Mr. Greer is a Certified Enterprise Architect, the Vice-chair of the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium (NCOIC), Cloud Computing Working Group, Steering Committee Chair, Cloud Standards Customer Council and an Advisory Council member of the Cloud Security Alliance. Mr. Greer is a frequent speaker at conferences and universities and is an accomplished author, “The Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture” and “Software as a Service Inflection Point, Using Cloud Computing to Achieve Business Agility” are his most recently published books. Greer received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and Technology and his Master of Science in Information Systems from American University, Wash. D.C. Matthew Hotle is a vice president and distinguished analyst in Gartner Research, where he is responsible for leading research in Application Governance. Richard Hunter is vice president and Gartner Fellow in Gartner's CIO Research Group ? Office of the CIO Research Team, where his recent work has focused on issues of interest to CIOs, including risk and value. Mr. Hunter is the author of the acclaimed books "World Without Secrets" (Wiley, New York, 2002) and "IT Risk" (with George Westerman, Harvard Business Press, Boston, 2007). Kim Kazmaier manages SOA Governance and Service Architecture within Bank of America’s Consumer bank. His team is responsible for service analysis and design using a model- driven approach. Since 2009, his team has designed 200 services using mode driven SOA. In addition, Kim is co-lead of Enterprise architecture’s SOA COE, which is responsible for developing and enforcement of enterprise SOA policies, developing SOA education and co-coordinating the management of SOA/BPM Models While at Bank of America, Kim has been in a number of roles across different lines of business, Technology and Operations, Commercial and Consumer IT solutions. His technical background includes Data base administration, performance and tuning, , software development (Assembler, C, C++ and Java) and Integration architect. For the past decade, he has been the thought leader on EAI and SOA solutions within the bank, and has presented at a number of conferences and users groups.

Thomas Kelly has 17 years of technology experience in business driven design, enterprise architectures, ‘fingers on the keyboard’ development, in addition to all phases of technology governance. Background includes extensive commercial architecture experience at the component, application, and enterprise systems level. Currently, Thomas is the director of Enterprise Architecture and Emerging Technologies at the Best Buy corporation in Minneapolis, MN where he specializes in enterprise systems design, big data, cloud infrastructure, and analytics.

Nathan King leads product management for health risk products at Healthways (NASDAQ:HWAY), a well-being company that offers comprehensive programs to decrease healthcare costs and enhance performance for its customers. Over the last 4 years, he has worked in a progression of operational and product management roles. Chris is an expert testing and architecture strategist, with a 20 year background in computer software development, product management, and sales support for enterprise software. As Product Manager for iTKO's LISA suite, Chris applies both project management and development experience to refine LISA features to best suit customer quality needs throughout the software delivery lifecycle. Chris was previously a Retail and Manufacturing Industry Manager at the enterprise software platform firm webMethods, overseeing requirements, customer presales and training for the $16M annual group. At supply chain software provider i2 Technologies he worked in i2's infrastructure group, with responsibility for the release of business process, workflow and monitoring engines. Prior to i2 at Software AG, Chris specialized in cross platform product installation and administration. As a software engineer, project manager, and solution architect, Chris has a great breadth of industry knowledge from working with companies like Citi, TD Ameritrade, Lenovo, Tandy, Rubbermaid, TI, and TxDoT to ensure quality application delivery lifecycles.

John Lake has over 15 years of experience in information technology management, largely with high growth technology companies in Silicon Valley. He currently serves as the Director of Information Systems for Panasas, a provider of high performance parallel storage solutions based in Sunnyvale, CA. Since joining Panasas in 2008, John has migrated multiple enterprise applications to the cloud, leveraging solutions from popular cloud vendors such as Salesforce.com, Big Machines, Coupa, Dell Boomi and Marketo. Most recently, his team successfully automated the company’s quote-to-cash process, requiring multiple integrations to be built between on-premise and cloud-based applications. A Bay Area native, John earned his BA from San Jose State University and his MBA from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University.

Matthew Lawrence is the Senior IT Director of Global Business Applications at Wind River Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Intel Corporation. Wind River is a world leader in embedded and mobile software. Matthew has global responsibility for the business systems at Wind River, supporting operations and driving high-value initiatives for Marketing, Alliance, Sales, Engineering, Finance and Customer Operations. Matthew has over 30 years experience implementing business-critical solutions and providing operational guidance and support to the enterprise. Prior to Wind River, Matthew held leadership positions at EMC-Documentum, Kaiser Permanente, TransAmerica Corp. and Hughes Aircraft.

Benoit Lheureux is a research VP in Gartner Research and agenda manager for the Application Infrastructure group. He focuses on three areas: application integration, middleware and B2B e-commerce, with the emphasis on the latter. Mr. Lheureux publishes research on the evolution of B2B integration projects (from traditional supply chain to cloud computing and SaaS integration), B2B infrastructure (including all forms of B2B software and services), the evolution of EDI VANs and integration as a service, and the role and adoption of B2B standards, such as EDI, AS2 and Web services.

As Vice President, Product and Services at Mashery, Chris Lippi has led Mashery’s product management, professional and client services organizations in the successful launch of over 150 API programs for clients like The New York Times, Netflix, Hoover’s, Expedia and Best Buy resulting in over 35,000 live applications and a network of 130,000 developers. Prior to Mashery, Chris ran the flagship product for newScale (acquired by Cisco). At General Electric he oversaw integration of its largest global EDI network with 100+ partners. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and Management Science from New York University.

Paolo Malinverno is a vice president in Gartner Research. Mr. Malinverno covers a broad set of application integration and architecture areas, including SOA governance and managing SOA projects, SOA centers of excellence, integration organizational issues, and integration competency centers. Mr. Malinverno also covers with a European perspective a wide variety of multienterprise B2B issues, including e-invoicing, B2B integration outsourcing, integration as a service, and B2B software.

Pankaj is the Founder, CTO and CEO of LongJump - a leading Cloud Application Platform company. He has over 17 years of technical and business experience in enterprise software product design, development, and implementation of business-critical customer service solutions for Fortune 500 companies including Citicorp, HP, and Veritas and has been a Software Architect with numerous high profile Silicon Valley technology companies including Internet Devices and Jareva Technologies. Pankaj has 2 patents and 3 pending patents in network security. He holds a degree in Computer Science from G.S. Institute of Technology and Science, India.

Anne Manes is a VP and distinguished analyst and directs research for the Application Platform Strategies (APS) team in Burton Group Research. Ms. Manes leads research on application development and delivery strategies, with a specific focus on BPM, SOA, and cloud computing. The APS team comprises seven analysts. Ms. Manes sets the research agenda, acts as mentor to members of the APS team, maintains editorial control over all content produced by the team, and coordinates the research with other service teams in Burton Group Research and across Gartner.

He has been with SAP since November 1996, starting as an internal ABAP developer for SAP America and eventually managing the same development team prior to joining the SAP NetWeaver Solution Management organization. Peter holds a master’s degree in computer information science from La Salle University.

Eric Minning is a Senior Business Partner at MillerCoors, LLC. MillerCoors was created in 2008 through the joint venture of Miller Brewing Co. and Coors Brewing Co. MillerCoors operates in the United States and Puerto Rico through a three-tier DSD distribution model that includes approximately 700 distributors and 530,000 retail outlets. MillerCoors produces, markets, and ships its own brands from 9 breweries in North America. MillerCoors also contract brews prominent non-MillerCoors brands. In his role as Senior Business Partner, Eric leads the distributor and retailer technology strategy and guides its execution.

Danielle Morrill is Director of Developer Evangelism and Corporate Communications for Twilio, the cloud communications company. Twilio provides tools used by more than 75,000 software developers worldwide to make and receive phone calls and text messages programmatically. Danielle has spent 10 years solving business process challenges in finance, supply chain and telecommunications and is widely regarded as an expert in building and nurturing developer communities. Scott Morrison is the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Architect at Layer 7 Technologies, providing the visionary innovation and technical direction for the company. He has extensive technical and scientific experience in a number of industries and universities, including senior architect positions at IBM. He is one of the four co-editors for the WS-I Basic Security Profile. Scott is a much sought-after author and speaker. Michael Mullany is the VP of Products and interim CEO of Sencha. He has over a decade’s experience in product marketing and management for Silicon Valley software companies. Prior to Sencha, he held product and executive marketing roles at influential Silicon Valley startups Netscape, Loudcloud and VMware. At virtualization leader VMware, he served as the vice president of worldwide marketing during its break-out into server computing. Michael has an extensive track record of defining and executing product and go-to-market strategies. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BA in economics from Harvard College.

Thomas Murphy is a research director with Gartner, where he is part of the Application Strategies and Governance group.

Jim Murphy is a research director in Gartner's Web and Cloud group, concentrating on portals and mashups. Mr. Murphy advises clients on effective strategies for portals, mashups, and related areas like content management, collaboration, and search.

Yefim Natis is a vice president and Gartner distinguished analyst in Gartner Research. Mr. Natis' research focuses on enterprise software infrastructure, including technologies such as application servers, cloud application platforms, application platform suites, integration and event-processing middleware, and TP monitors. Mr. Newcomb is the founder, Chief Executive Officer, and chairman of The Software Revolution, Inc. (TSRI). Under his leadership, TSRI has successfully completed more than 85 automated modernization projects in diverse areas such as satellite command and control, strategic warfare planning, ballistic missile early warning, health care, logistics, and engineering operational sequencing. In his role as research director with Gartner's application development and architecture team, David Norton supports clients by developing and delivering quality and timely research.

Rick Nucci is Co-Founder and CTO of Dell Boomi. His responsibilities include establishing the strategic direction of Boomi’s technology, as well as managing the operations of the product development group. He sits on the company’s Board of Directors and works directly with customers and partners to help solve business integration challenges.

Tim O’Brien is responsible for cloud services evangelism and leads the Platform Strategy Group in the Developer & Platform Evangelism Group at Microsoft Corp. Tim has been on the forefront of the company’s development efforts since 2005, working with senior technical and business leaders on the development of strategies relating to devices, platform services and service-based applications, including Windows Azure platform and Microsoft Online Services. Before joining Microsoft in 2003, Tim worked as an engineer, a marketer and a consultant at both startups and Fortune 500 companies. He has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. Gene Phifer is a managing vice president in Gartner Research. Mr. Phifer covers a broad set of Web and cloud-centric technologies, including Web architecture, intranets, extranets, e-business, portals, rich Internet applications, Web applications, cloud computing and software as a service. Additional concepts covered include SOA, WOA, governance and management of infrastructure resources.

Andrew Price is Versata's Chief Financial Officer. Andrew is responsible for the global financial operations of Versata Enterprises including accounting, tax, treasury, financial planning, and M&A. During his tenure, Andrew has been a critical member of the executive team charged with executing Versata's strategy of profitable and sustained growth. Prior to that, he was Director of Product Management where he oversaw Trilogy's complete portfolio of technology-enabled business services. Andrew has a B.A. computer Science and a B.S. Marc-Thomas Schmidt is a Distinguished Engineer and has been working on IBM’s Business Integrations technologies for more than a decade, from workflow management systems to advanced message-oriented middleware to business process management technology. In his current role, he leads the work on technical architecture for IBM’s ESB technologies.

Jeff Schulman is a group vice president and team manager in Gartner Research. In this position, he leads the application integration and Web Services team.

Roy Schulte is a vice president and distinguished analyst in Gartner Research on the Business Intelligence team. His specialties include event processing, real-time operational intelligence, CEP, BAM, message-oriented middleware (MOM), publish-and-subscribe, and cloud messaging.

Jim Shepherd brings nearly 40 years of manufacturing, operations, and software industry experience to his role as senior vice president of research for AMR Research. Daniel Sholler is a vice president in Gartner, where he advises clients on issues around application architecture, integration and development. Mr. Sholler is an authority on service-oriented architecture, and his current research focuses on applying the architecture and concepts of the Web to enterprise software.

Jim Sinur is a vice president in Gartner Research after a short stint with a BPM vendor. Prior to that, Mr. Sinur was with Gartner 15 years and helped establish the BPI/BPM areas at Gartner and is considered a thought leader. His research and areas of personal experience focus on business process improvement (BPI), business modeling, business process management technology (BPMT), processes for knowledge workers, process optimization business rules management (BRMS), and leveraging business applications in processes and goal-driven unstructured processes. Mr. Sinur was critical in creating the first Hype Cycle at Gartner, which has become a hallmark of Gartner analysis, along with the Magic Quadrant. He has been active in the rules, data and computing communities, helping shape direction based on practical experience.

As senior vice president and chief information officer, Enterprise Business Partners, Pradip Sitaram oversees the strategic direction and operational management of the information technology portfolio for the entire Enterprise family of companies. He oversees the design, development and implementation of Enterprise’s business operations platforms and corporate back-office solutions, as well as the core technology infrastructure. The goal of Enterprise Business Partners is to support Enterprise’s overall mission and objectives by consistently delivering high-quality, high-value and cost-effective services to all internal customers in a responsive manner. Pradip brings more than 20 years of experience as an information technology executive, with a deep knowledge in application development, strategy, enterprise architecture, process improvement, network infrastructure/telecommunications and governance. Before joining Enterprise in 2010, Pradip was the chief information officer for CDI, a $100 million direct marketing firm based in Joppa, Md., where he was responsible for transforming the IT infrastructure and application architecture to service three distinct business lines as the company positioned itself for an eventual exit sale. Prior to CDI, Pradip worked in the federal government consulting and in the satellite telecommunications industry. He was the vice president for information technology responsible for business development and technology leadership at ASRC, a $800M/7000 person support services company specializing in engineering, aviation, transportation, satellite and radar systems, space & missile defense, operations and maintenance, IT/IM and security support for civil and military R&D centers, and federal data centers. Prior to that, Pradip was the IT director at Intelsat, a $1 billion global satellite and telecom company in Washington, D.C. During his eight years there, he was responsible for establishing the vision and executing the strategy to transform and modernize all the business, financial, data warehouse, network and operational systems. At Intelsat, Pradip led an award-winning initiative to deliver near real-time business intelligence utilizing a data warehouse to enhance executive decision-making capability. This effort received international recognition in 2004 with the CIO magazine “Agile 100 Award.” Before joining Intelsat, Pradip spent 5 years at Hughes where he led engineering teams to deliver software and systems solutions at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Pradip has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Catholic University and a master’s degree in software and systems engineering, from George Mason University.

David Mitchell Smith is a vice president and Gartner Fellow in Gartner Research, where he specializes in the impact of catalytic technologies such as the Internet, Web technologies (such as the mobile Web and HTML5), cloud computing and consumer technologies. During his 16-plus years at Gartner, he has played a leadership role in several of the company's efforts in these areas, including the emergence of cloud computing and consumerization of IT. He has served as the lead Gartner analyst covering major vendors such as Microsoft, IBM, Sun and AOL. Mr. Smith is often quoted in publications such as the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, and has frequently been a guest on CNBC. In 2002, Adweek's Technology Marketing magazine named him the most influential industry analyst.

David Stahl is currently a Sr. Software Developer at The Hershey Company, Hershey PA. He joined Hershey in April of 2008. David is a member of the Web Solutions Group in the IS Department. Before joining The Hershey Company David consulted in the Central Pennsylania area working with Java, XML, and database development. David was an adjunct at Dickinson College teaching Computer Graphics, Computational Theory, and Intro to Programming. David has over 23 years of software development experience.

Paul Stamas is Vice President of Information Technology at Mohawk Fine Papers, the largest premium paper manufacturer in North America. Previously he held IT management positions at General Motors, Sprint/Nextel, Phillips Medical Systems, and the Department of Defense. Paul received a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from State University of New York; a BA in Applied Statistics from the State University of New York; an Executive MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; an Executive MS in Information Management from Syracuse University. Paul is pursuing a Doctorate from the Syracuse University School of Information Studies and is conducting research in the application of cloud computing and service-oriented architecture in manufacturing firms.

Bill Swanton comes to Gartner through the AMR Research acquisition and brings more than 31 years of enterprise manufacturing expertise to his role as VP and distinguished analyst. Mr. Swanton covers application strategy and the business value of IT, including IT benefit realization techniques used by Fortune 1000 companies to expand the value they receive from their ERP and other applications investments. Recent areas of focus have been application organization maturity (ITScore), BPM for ERP, and MDM for ERP. Mr. Swanton has also analyzed the high-tech and discrete industries, with a specific focus on how brand owners, contract manufacturers, and other suppliers manage global demand-driven supply networks (DDSNs). His tenure at AMR Research enabled him to work in a variety of roles at the company. He built the manufacturing strategies service from a single analyst to a team of vertical-industry specialists covering aerospace and defense, automotive, chemical, CPG, high tech, and life sciences. In this role, he led the development of the firm's REPAC model of manufacturing processes. Mr. Swanton also launched AMR Research's product life cycle management coverage in 1997 and continues to follow its role in the larger enterprise architecture.

Laurence Sweeney has over 25 years of software development experience in a variety of roles ranging from field-based consulting as a System Performance specialist through to Factory based R&D management roles. Prior to joining CollabNet, his role as Director of Software (PDE-IT) at Hewlett Packard encompassed acquiring, deploying and managing multiple Agile ALM platforms for tens of thousands of developers and managers in dozens of divisions. As part of the HP Enterprise Transformation, Laurence led the IT group that established the world's largest centrally managed instance of HP Quality Center as well as building out a 12,000+ seat CollabNet platform instance.

Thiru is a Director of Solution Architecture with Apollo Group in Phoenix. Prior to that, Thiru worked as an Enterprise Architect in Intel IT. Thiru is certified by Open Group as a Level 2 Master Certified IT Architect. He is the author of "Professional ASP.NET 2.0 XML" and "Professional ASP.NET 2.0 Databases" books from Wiley Publications press and has also coauthored about 9 books on and Service Oriented Architecture related technologies. Thiru is also a frequent speaker in architecture events such as Open Group, Data Management, and Semantic Technology conferences.

Jess Thompson is a research vice president in Gartner's ITL Enterprise Software Web App Dev and Integration group. His research focuses on initiatives using application infrastructure, including application integration (A2A, B2B and cloud-to-on-premises) and near-neighbor initiatives, such as data integration and business process management. He also examines the integration of technologies that support those initiatives, as well as strategies for federating application integration and SOA, data integration, and business process improvement initiatives.

Andy Thurai is Chief Architect for Intel Application Security and Identity Products, where he is responsible for architecting SOA, Cloud, Governance, Security, and Identity solutions for Intel & McAfee enterprise customers. Prior to this role he has held technology leadership and executive positions with L-1 Identity Solutions, IBM Datapower, CSC, BMC and Nortel. Andy holds a degree in electrical and electronics engineering and has over 20 years of IT experience.

Ray Valdes is research director in Gartner Research, where he is part of the Internet Platforms and Web Services team.

Dale Vecchio is a research vice president in Gartner Research, where he works in the application development area of the Research Advisory Service. Mr. Vecchio specializes in strategies and technologies for the modernization of legacy systems. Application modernization approaches include service-oriented architecture (SOA), code transformation, rehosting and database migration. He helps organizations implement application modernization decisions, including platform migrations (particularly mainframes), application reimplementation and transition to packaged solutions. Tools and processes to improve maintenance and support of legacy systems are also part of his coverage area.

Richard Watson is an analyst in Burton Group Gartner Research. He advises clients on application architecture, service-oriented architecture (SOA), cloud application platforms and business process management (BPM).

Leigh Williamson is an IBM Distinguished Engineer who has been working in the Austin, Texas lab since 1988, contributing to IBM’s major software projects including OS/2, DB2, AIX, OpenDoc, Java, Component Broker, and WebSphere Application Server. His current role is as a member of the IBM Rational Software Chief Technology Officer team, influencing the strategic direction for products in the Rational brand and leading the solution definition for mobile application development.
