Suzanne Adnams works with CIOs in Western Canada who are members of Gartner Executive Programs, providing executive-level advice, guidance, counsel, direction and assistance to support the CIO role and help members succeed in their organizations.

Gene Alvarez is a research vice president in Gartner Research. He leads Gartner's research on all aspects of e-commerce - from business models to cloud-based e-commerce technologies and more. In addition, his research covers mobile e-commerce, context-aware computing and social commerce, as well as CRM organizational vision and strategy. Mr. Alvarez often provides strategic advice to CEOs, heads of sales, heads of CRM, VPs of e-commerce, directors of e-commerce, channel-base sellers, and IT professionals responsible for customer-facing transactional websites. He is the chairperson for Gartner's premier Customer 360 Summit for his second year and has spoken at many international events.

Steve Boyer is a vice president and executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs in the service delivery organizations western region. He brings more than 30 years of IT management and consulting experience with a global orientation. Mr. Boyer has demonstrated success in financial services, credit card/electronic payment systems, software development, telecommunications, manufacturing, banking and business process optimization/call center industries.

Louis Boyle is a vice president and executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs, where he manages CIO and CxO relationships. In this capacity, he acts as mentor, trusted advisor and consultant to senior IT executives and CxO members of Gartner EXP. Boyle is frequently called on to facilitate workshops and speak on the business impact of technology and best practices related to the CIO. He is also executive editor of Gartner CIO Desk Reference.

Antony "A.C." Chan is an executive advisor with Gartner Executive Programs and has over 10 years of IT consulting and management experience.

Heather Colella is a research director for Gartner's Office of the CIO, where she is responsible for developing publications aimed at helping CIOs and their organizations improve their performance and business contribution.

Rebecca Crane is an executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs. Crane has 20 years of experience bridging the worlds of business, information technology and human capital management. She has assisted both private and public sector clients with improving business alignment and performance by building strong business and human capital strategies and business action plans as well as managing implementation projects. Crane focuses on projects related to organizational transformation, strategy, organizational structure, project management, change management, team building, management development, career development, governance, strategic sourcing and training.

Linda Y. Cureton is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). As NASA CIO, she provides the requisite leadership to transform the management of information technology (IT) capabilities and services to support and enable NASA's mission. She ensures that the Agency's information resource management (IRM) strategy is in alignment with NASA's vision, mission, and strategic goals. Accordingly, Ms. Cureton ensures the development of integrated IRM strategies, including standards, policies, NASA Enterprise Architecture, IT security, management, and operations. She has the responsibility, authority and accountability for ensuring that NASA's information assets are selected, controlled and evaluated consistent with federal policies, procedures, and legislation. Ms. Cureton was appointed as the NASA CIO in September 2009. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Linda Y. Cureton served as the CIO of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) and led the Information Technology and Communications Directorate. As the GSFC CIO, Ms. Cureton was responsible for ensuring that GSFC's information assets are acquired and managed consistent with Agency and Federal Government policies. She was responsible for ensuring that the Center's Information Technology strategy aligns with NASA's vision, mission, and strategic goals. Prior to her arrival at GSFC, Ms. Cureton was the Deputy Chief Information Officer of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) and led the Office of Science and Technology as Deputy Assistant Director. The Office of Science and Technology is responsible for providing leadership in the innovative and efficient application of science and technology used to collect, clarify, and communicate information needed to reduce violent crime, collect revenue and protect the public. As the ATF Deputy CIO, she was responsible for ensuring that the use of Information Technology for the Bureau's mission and business requirements fulfill customer and stakeholder needs. Previously, Ms. Cureton served in executive positions at the Department of Energy and the Department of Justice. As a strong advocate for the practical application of technology, she has served as a member of organizations such as the Government Information Technology Investment Council, the American Council for Technology, and Women in Technology. Ms. Cureton earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Howard University in 1980 graduating magna cum laude with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Latin. She also received a Master of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University in 1994, and a Post-Master's Advanced Certificate in Applied Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University in 1996. She performed extensive research in numerical analysis and has been published in the "Journal of Sound and Vibration." She currently resides in Maryland with her husband and mother.

Carolyn Damon is an executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs. Her 25 years of experience bridging the world of business and information technology allow her to serve as a mentor and trusted advisor for CIOs and senior executives. In this capacity, she provides strategic research, valuable insight and delivery services to Executive Programs members and prospective Gartner clients. Her reputation for listening, creative thinking, and implementing successful solutions facilitating business results has been developed over her global career.

Ione de Almeida Coco is a vice president and program director with Gartner Executive Programs, advising CIOs throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, from Mexico to Argentina.

Amy Edmondson is the Novartis Professor of Leadership and Management at Harvard Business School. She teaches MBA and Executive Education courses in leadership, service management, and organizational learning and is the Faculty Chair of the HBS World Bank Group program for new leaders. She was recently included in the 2011 Thinkers 50, a prestigious ranking of the world’s top fifty business thinkers. A prolific author, Professor Edmondson’s eagerly anticipated new book, Teaming: How Organizations Learn, Innovate, and Compete, is scheduled for publication in March 2012. In it, she examines group dynamics, how groups learn, and especially how to create highly effective collaborative teams. In her provocative Harvard Business Review article, Strategies for Learning from Failure, Amy explores why some failure is inevitable, and why some is even valuable. In addition to over 50 articles in academic journals, management periodicals, and books, Amy is also the author of dozens of HBS teaching cases, including classic leadership studies on The Cleveland Clinic, General Motors Powertrain, Prudential Financial, Simmons Mattress Company, YUM brands, IDEO product design, and NASA’s failed Columbia mission. Professor Edmondson is widely known for her brilliant work around leadership influences on learning, collaboration, and innovation in teams and organizations. Her innovative field-based approach includes research in contexts ranging from health care delivery and manufacturing to space exploration. One stream of her work has shown effects of leadership behavior and a safe psychological climate on patient safety in hospitals while other streams have investigated management team practices that promote effective decision-making and organizational learning. Professor Edmondson is a respected and beloved speaker and consultant to corporations, government entities, and nonprofit organizations worldwide. She typically receives the highest audience evaluations with clients often adding that she changed their thinking and was the best speaker they had ever engaged. Before her academic career, Professor Edmondson was Director of Research at Pecos River Learning Centers, where she worked closely with founder and CEO Larry Wilson to design and implement organizational change programs in a variety of Fortune 100 companies. In the early 1980s, she worked as Chief Engineer for architect/inventor Buckminster Fuller, and her book, A Fuller Explanation, clarifies Fuller’s mathematical contributions for a non-technical audience. Professor Edmondson received her PhD in organizational behavior, AM in psychology, and AB in engineering and design, all from Harvard University.

Robin Flatau-Reynoso is an executive advisor with Gartner Executive Programs. In this role, she provides direction and support to chief information officers with respect to their current IT challenges and initiatives. Her areas of expertise include change management, project management and workforce development. During her tenure with EXP, Ms. Flatau-Reynoso has worked with 200 CIOs across Canada and along the U.S. eastern seaboard in both the public and private sectors, from organizations in financial services, manufacturing, retail, media, education and healthcare.

Christian (Chris) Fortin is an executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs. Mr. Fortin brings 33 years of business and technology management experience to Gartner, the last 10 years of which he gained in strategic consulting roles as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, including CEOs in the private and public sectors.

Chris Germann is a regional vice president of service delivery with Gartner Executive Programs. He leads a team of former CIOs and IT practitioners responsible for delivering membership programs and services to CIOs in the southeast region of the U.S. Before this, Germann was an executive partner, where he led the resurgence of Executive Programs membership in the Texas and southwest areas, doubling the membership base.

Austin Gillis is an executive advisor with Gartner Executive Programs with more than eight years of experience working with senior IT executives on management, process and technology issues. Gillis manages CIO client relationships in a range of industries. As part of the Gartner Executive Programs team, he has provided insight and guidance to clients on such topics as ERP (vendor selection and implementation best practices), IT workforce management, business value of IT, sourcing and IT governance.

Barbara Gomolski is managing vice president in the IT Metrics and Finance team within the CIO Research group at Gartner. She works extensively with clients on issues of running the business of IT, specializing in IT financial and performance management. For the past nine years, Ms. Gomolski has worked with clients to help them set IT investment levels and optimize the return on those investments. She also spearheaded Gartner's primary research in the area of IT spending for many years.

Pete Goss is the ultimate competitor. He is a sailor, adventurer and former Royal Marine, who has had numerous seafaring adventures. He has competed in seven transatlantic and two round-the-world races. The most recognized of these was the 1996/7 Vendee Globe non-stop single-handed round the world yacht race in his Open 50 yacht 'Aqua Quorum'. It was this race which turned Pete into a national hero for the dramatic rescue of fellow competitor Raphael Dinelli in hurricane-force winds. Pete was awarded the MBE by HM The Queen and the Legion d'Honneur by the French President. Pete’s other sailing exploits include training and leading a previously inexperienced crew of ten through what is generally held to be the toughest yacht race in the world – the British Steel Challenge. The route goes the ‘wrong way’ around the world, against the prevailing winds and currents. Pete proudly led the team aboard Hofbrau into third place. In 1988 he defied convention by finishing second in the Carlsberg single-handed transatlantic race, sailing ‘Cornish Meadow’, a tiny catamaran just 26 feet in length. This was Pete’s first project, but proved that small, lightweight multi-hulls can be viable giant-killing race boats. One of the largest projects for Pete was when he gathered together the team and sponsors that enabled the construction of the world-famous giant catamaran 'Team Philips' – this was a five year project that ended with the sad loss of the boat, but thankfully not the crew, in a freak mid-Atlantic storm in December 2000. Numerous successful businesses were spawned from that project and many people are still employed by them today. Pete returned to offshore racing by competing in the 2006 two-handed Round Britain and Ireland Yacht Race with Paul Larsen aboard another small Trimaran, a Seacart 30. ‘Cornwall Playing for Success’ was the ninth boat to cross the finish line from an original fleet of 40. It was only a three-day set back to repair boat damage that prevented them from winning – at one stage they were a day ahead of the rest of the fleet. However, the goal of their entry was to raise money for Cornwall Playing for Success, of which Pete is a founding Trustee; in fact they raised enough to enable CPfS to build a new centre for youth training. More recently, Pete constructed a 37’ wooden Mount’s Bay lugger, which he sailed with family members to Melbourne to recreate the voyage of the smallest migrant vessel ever to make it to Australia, and thereby shine a light on a the bravery of those brave Cornishmen who made that journey more than 150 years previously. Despite being knocked down by a freak southern ocean wave that broke one crewman’s leg they still sailed on, reaching Australia together. An entry in the 2010 Single-Handed Trans-Atlantic ‘Route du Rhum’ aboard a brand new Class 40 racing yacht and numerous trips to the North Pole are just a couple more examples of Pete’s seemingly endless capacity for adventure. Pete’s determination and limitless courage in the face of danger is unsurpassed and has moved people to tackle their own challenges in life. As Pete says: “Life hangs on a very thin thread and the cancer of time is complacency. If you are going to do something, do it now. Tomorrow is too late.” It is from all these experiences that Pete draws when he gives inspirational and motivating talks around the globe. He also lectures in business schools and helps individuals and organisations reach their true potential. Indeed, he has just been made an Associate Fellow of Said Business School Oxford University. Pete is the author of the best-selling book about his yachting adventures – ‘Close to the Wind’, where Pete shares his adventures, thoughts, hardships and philosophy during and throughout the ten years of preparation for the 1996 Vendee Globe. He lives in Cornwall and is married to Tracey, with whom he has three children: Alex, Olivia and Eliot.

Juan Gutierrez is an executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs. He advises Gartner Executive Programs members in Mexico and Central America on making day-to-day decisions using Gartner expertise. Gutierrez has more than 20 years of experience in IT. His areas of expertise include security, IT strategies, governance and knowledge management. Before joining Gartner Executive Programs, he was a Gartner consultant.

Stephen High is a vice president and executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs, serving public and private sector clients in Texas and other areas of the south central United States.

Jim Hocker is an executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs, focused on government and education, and the role service director for public sector CIOs. He brings more than 25 years of management and consulting experience to his role, including 17 years in IT.

Richard Hunter is vice president and Gartner Fellow in Gartner's CIO Research Group – Office of the CIO Research Team, where his recent work has focused on issues of interest to CIOs, including risk and value. Mr. Hunter is the author of the acclaimed books "World Without Secrets" (Wiley, New York, 2002) and "IT Risk" (with George Westerman, Harvard Business Press, Boston, 2007). His most recent book, "The Real Business of IT," also co-authored with George Westerman, was published by Harvard Business Press in October 2009, and was named by CIO Insight Magazine as the best business/IT book of 2009 in December of that year. Mr. Hunter is in much demand as a speaker and advisor to CIOs.

Cindy Keely is an executive advisor based in the Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, office and serves clients in the Mid-Atlantic region, as well as Ohio and Pennsylvania.

John Kresovsky is an executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs in the southeast region with 30 years of CIO, IT operations and business development experience in highly distributed, international and large-scale operations. He also has experience with retail, consumer products and communications companies.

Dale Kutnick is senior vice president and global head of Gartner Executive Programs. His primary responsibility is designing and developing innovative advisory programs and services for CIOs and senior business leaders to help them better manage and exploit IT economics and financials, risk and business enablement. She is the co-author of the bestselling book Mavericks at Work: Why the Most Original Minds in Business Win and was a member of the original team of Fast Company magazine (where she was senior editor for a decade). Polly’s writing has appeared in a range of publications and she has delivered hundreds of keynote addresses around the world and has served as business and innovation correspondent for CNN.

Steve Lachowski is an executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs. He has 29 years of experience as a transformation leader with several global multibillion-dollar enterprises in telecommunications, managed services and heavy industry.

Doug Laney is a research vice president for Gartner Research, where he covers business analytics solutions and projects, performance management, and data-governance-related issues.

Robert Langlois is a vice president and executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs. Based in Montreal, he is responsible for delivery of the Gartner EXP CIO Signature service in eastern Canada.

Michael Leckie is a vice president of service delivery, managing the Northeast U.S. and Eastern Canada for Gartner's Executive Programs. Mr. Leckie leads a team of highly experienced former CIOs and IT executives. He is responsible for service delivery excellence and strategic business development across the region.

Hung LeHong is a research vice president on the Executive Leadership and Innovation research team at Gartner. He focuses on senior executives and CIOs to help them anticipate changes to business models and consumer trends caused by technology disruptors. Mr. LeHong helps executives understand what's coming in the next three years or beyond so they can innovate today, to improve their position or effectiveness in the future. His latest research is in the areas of emerging trends, mobile commerce, context aware computing, and advanced analytics.

Jorge Lopez is a vice president and distinguished analyst based in the United States, where he focuses on issues of concern to business executives, especially the CEO, and their relationship to IT and the CIO. His research includes CEO concerns, global industry scenarios, strategic change, and cost optimization. He has produced research that includes how CEOs view their challenges and what IT should do about them, radical IT cost cutting, how to overcome IT as a constraint to business change, how to reduce the risk of IT, and how to improve the business strategic value and alignment of IT. In addition, he works with key IT vendors and services providers to improve the effectiveness of their business strategy and value to their customers.

Thor Madsen is an executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs, supporting CIO clients. His primary areas of focus are executive communication strategies, innovation and the evolution of IT.

John Mahoney is a vice president and distinguished analyst in the CIO research group at Gartner. An experienced strategic leader, coach and executive board member, Mr. Mahoney focuses his research on the development and transformation of CIO and IT leadership roles and the future of IT organizations. His research and advice blend the practical and the strategic, including all aspects of leadership and strategy for IT organizations and for IT-driven companies.

Mary Ann Maxwell is a vice president of service delivery in Gartner Executive Programs, based in Asia Pacific. She is responsible for the overall business as well as driving growth and enhancing the client experience for members in that region. In addition, Maxwell is involved in product development and providing a high-level coaching facility for key CIO members.

Mark McDonald, Ph.D., is a group vice president, head of research in Gartner Executive Programs, and a Gartner Fellow. He is responsible for the research agenda focused exclusively on CIOs and the business of information technology. Mr. McDonald is the lead author of research in the areas of CIO credibility, the business use of advanced technologies, enterprise architecture and business process transformation. He is the co-author of the forthcoming book, "The Social Organization" (October 2011) with Anthony Bradley. He is also the co-author with Peter Keen of "The eProcess Edge" and the author of "Architecting Enterprises — Achieving Performance and Flexibility." He has also been interviewed or published in the Wall Street Journal, Computerworld, CIO Magazine, the Financial Times and other publications. He routinely works with senior business and technology executives and is currently working on the issue of innovation in management.

Leigh C. McMullen is a research vice president in Gartner's Office of the CIO Research team. Mr. McMullen leverages his experience as both a line-of-business manager and IT leader to provide CIOs with insight on navigating and making a difference within the C-Suite. Additionally, he provides clients with a holistic view of IT leadership research, specializing in research for CIOs, especially on the topics of business engagement, internal selling and IT marketing, IT strategy and transformation, service management, mergers and acquisitions, and major-initiative planning.

Jerry Mechling is a vice president at Gartner Research focusing domestically and internationally on helping governments and their corporate and nonprofit partners with issues of strategic planning, work process innovation and implementation, governance, and information management and analysis. Dr. Mechling is also a recently retired lecturer in public policy at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he has written "Eight Imperatives for Leaders in a Networked World" (a series of policy papers for the Harvard Policy Group on Network-Enabled Services and Government) and "Finding and Funding IT Initiatives in the Public Sector" (a book by the Government Technology Press).

Alia Mendonsa is an executive advisor with Gartner Executive Programs, focused on CIO leadership challenges and strategies.

David Meredith is a vice president and executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs. Mr. Meredith brings 24 years of progressive leadership experience in IT to his role, with expertise in leading global IT organizations, building businesses through IT and delivering strategic initiatives for some of the world's largest financial services organizations.

Scott Merriman is an executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs, focusing on Gartner's public sector clients. Diane Morello is a managing vice president, Gartner Fellow Emeritus and team leader for the Executive Leadership and Innovation group. Ms. Morello helps clients anticipate the impact of changes on their culture, strengthen their workforce management practices and improve their competitive stance in the market.

David Pack is a vice president within Gartner Executive Programs. Mr. Pack has 25 years of experience in IT and IT human capital management (HCM). He currently leads a series of HCM workshops on IT organization design, job design, IT leadership, competency development and HCM assessments. Mr. Pack has had a variety of work experiences within the IT industry, including 10 years of HCM consulting. He has contributed to numerous Gartner research reports and has been quoted in several external publications, including Computerworld and the Atlanta Business Journal. He joined Gartner in 2000 and is based in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Gene Phifer is a managing vice president in Gartner Research. Mr. Phifer covers a broad set of Web and cloud-centric technologies, including Web architecture, intranets, extranets, e-business, portals, rich Internet applications, Web applications, cloud computing and software as a service. Additional concepts covered include SOA, WOA, governance and management of infrastructure resources.

Kurt Potter is a research vice president within the Gartner CIO Research group, where he creates actionable fact-based research focused on IT financial management. This includes drivers and trends related to IT spending and staffing, IT cost transparency, IT performance management, and IT benchmarking and measurement. Mr. Potter specializes in advice for clients who have goals for significant change or big shifts in IT management practices.

Mark Raskino is a Distinguished Analyst and Gartner Fellow in Executive Leadership and Innovation research. Mr. Raskino works primarily with CIOs and CEOs. He covers business and technology trends and their implications for business strategy and IT management. Mr. Raskino's research includes Gartner's Annual CEO Survey, Annual CIO Resolutions and Annual CEO Resolutions, as well as the 2008 Harvard Press book "Mastering the Hype Cycle." He is an accomplished and frequent keynote speaker. Nick Reddall is an executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs. In this role, he combines his international work experience together with Gartner research to advise and guide CIOs and senior IT executives across a broad range of industries. Mr. Reddall has worked in environments of significant change, where he has been instrumental in leading organizations through both acquisition and divestiture transactions. He has managed multinational IT organizations and has extensive experience in global multisourcing.

Liz Reynolds Jordan is a vice president with Gartner Executive Programs, where she leads the support of government and education members. She is responsible for the growth and delivery of Executive Programs services to federal, state, local, and education CIOs in the U.S. Ms. Reynolds Jordan has 18 years of IT experience.

José Ruggero is a group vice president with Gartner Executive Programs. For the past seven years, he has been deeply involved in the markets in the United States, Latin America and the developing markets in Asia/Pacific and Japan, working with CIOs with the many frameworks and concepts developed through Gartner Executive Programs. Prior to that, he was a senior program director in Gartner EXP, serving clients in Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and New Zealand. His areas of interest include innovation, leadership and IS management strategies, and he has spoken at many industry events.

Aaron Sandeen is a visionary leader with over 17 years in technology. Serving as the State Chief Information Officer and Deputy Director of the Department of Administration, he oversees the Arizona Strategic Enterprise Technology office where he is responsible for leading the state’s technology vision and strategy. With a distinctive mix of private and public sector experience, Aaron was appointed by Governor Janice K. Brewer. As the State CIO, he drives the continuity of mission critical and essential systems to over 130 state agencies with over 31,000 state employees. Leading the ASET office, he is responsible for defining and executing the state’s strategic IT plan and setting the strategic direction for the efficient delivery of state-wide information technology. Prior to his appointment, Aaron worked in the Governor’s office in varying leadership roles where he successfully led key initiatives in technology, economic recovery, health information exchange, and campaign propositions. Preceding his work with the state, Aaron worked with industry leaders such as Intel, Microsoft, Syntellect, and UnitedHealth Group. This extensive experience gives him a unique perspective and aids his vision of leapfrogging capabilities to transform state government.

Bill Snyder is a Gartner Research VP. Mr. Snyder's expertise encompasses general IT asset management (ITAM) topics, including ITAM process development, maturity assessments, organizational considerations, improvements in efficiency and the finances of IT. His coverage includes best practices in workstation, server, and mainframe hardware and software asset management. In addition, Mr. Snyder covers the strategic vendor management space and has extensive experience in planning and negotiating enterprise software license agreements, such as financial analysis and software acquisition contract review, including Oracle.

Val Sribar is group vice president and leader of Gartner's Enterprise Software Research group. This group covers areas such as application development, BI, cloud computing, collaboration, content management, CRM, ERP, integration/middleware, portals, and social software/media. This coverage includes the entire application life cycle, from business requirement analysis through design/package selection, testing/QA, deployment, and ongoing application maintenance and support. The group includes experts in Web technologies (e.g., Web 2.0 and portals), service-oriented architecture (SOA), agile methodologies, application platforms, and enterprise service buses. A wide variety of application sourcing and delivery alternatives, including software as a service (SaaS), are also covered by application analysts.
