Selecting IAM Vendors for Your IAM Needs

14 November, 2011 (09:30 AM - 10:30 AM)

Potential IAM buyers need practical advice about how to select IAM vendors for their enterprise. The planning process for that effort should be structured and account for prioritized requirements, while balancing this with cost. This Q&A session allows attendees to ask questions and discuss issues such as the following.

Case Study: Lessons from Molson Coors Brewing Company: Choosing and Implementing Identity and Access Management in the Cloud

14 November, 2011 (01:45 PM - 02:45 PM)

Molson Coors Brewing Company (MCBC) strategy and direction has changed the needs of the technology needed to support these efforts. In recent years Molson Coors has increased joint ventures, partnerships, cross brewing relationships and has entered into greater collaboration with third parties. The company has also started heavily using SaaS applications, business processing outsourcing models and has placed greater reliance on a large contingent workforce. With these changes, MCBC needed to change its identity and access management strategy as the current system had inconsistencies across IT, inflexible with the rate of change within the and was becoming progressively more expensive to change with a staff under qualified to complete the complex IAM tasks. Come hear how MCBC researched and implemented IAM software without the complexity and cost of implementing the software on-premise.

The Reality of IAM and the Cloud: Technologies, Risks and Services

14 November, 2011 (04:15 PM - 05:15 PM)

Cloud computing has reached such levels of hype that it’s difficult for most enterprise decision makers to know what is real vs. what is not real, particularly when it comes to IAM’s ability to secure access to, from, and for cloud applications. Without more certainty regarding the ability to adequately secure cloud computing services, its adoption remains at risk. This Q&A session allows attendees to ask questions and discuss issues such as the following.

Combating Fraudsters and Hackers From the Evil Empire

15 November, 2011 (09:30 AM - 10:30 AM)

In the past, detection and mitigation of fraud and mis-use was primarily a problem for the financial services industry. The rising level of targeted attacks has made this a problem for all of us. Identity and usage context is needed to discern a pattern of abnormal activity.

Secrets for Selling IAM to the Enterprise

15 November, 2011 (01:45 PM - 02:45 PM)

How can IT create a coherent and believable story about why IAM is needed in the enterprise in language that the business can understand and accept? This Q&A session allows attendees to explore such questions as:

Case Study: Securing the Network Infrastructure and Enhancing Security Audits at the FERC

15 November, 2011 (03:45 PM - 04:45 PM)

The potential of a cyber-attack against our nation’s utilities and critical infrastructure has gained the widespread attention of the federal government. This session will look inside the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and its mission to protect its own network infrastructure against unauthorized access as well as the key tools used in helping FERC comply with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) regulations presented. To achieve FISMA compliance, FERC deployed Network Access Control (NAC) across its entire network environment, initially in its headquarters and then to remote sites as well as to wireless devices. This was critical as FERC sites are the subject of frequent visits from non-governmental personnel, including individuals and groups from foreign nations. This session will be presented in a case study/war story format that will take attendees through FERC’s network challenges that previously made compliance with FISMA difficult.

When IAM Programs Go Wrong: Best Practices for Avoiding Risks

16 November, 2011 (08:00 AM - 09:00 AM)

IAM deployment horror stories abound, particularly from the early years. There are lessons that can be learned from partial and complete failures of IAM implementation so that history does not repeat itself. This Q&A session allows attendees to explore such questions as:

Accessing the Crystal Ball: IAM and Security in Five Years

16 November, 2011 (10:00 AM - 11:00 AM)

Looking back to 2006, it is obvious that there have been substantial changes in the IAM market, technologies, and use over that time. Some areas of IAM have matured, while other areas continue to evolve. This Q&A session attempts to explore the trends in IAM technology, process, and organization and extrapolate into the next 5 years what is feasible and likely. Attendees will have an opportunity to explore such questions as.
