Gartner Master Data Management Summit

Mark Beyer is a research vice president in Gartner, where he has specialized in information architectures, data integration and business intelligence strategies, data solution architectures and technologies for data warehousing, data marts, and data integration. His area of coverage extends into SOA principles for data management. From a practical perspective, prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Beyer has almost 11 years of direct field experience in data management, integration, business intelligence and application development and was a power user before that.

Having been with Gartner for more than 17 years, Michael Blechar is vice president and distinguished analyst in the Information Management Research area of Gartner's Research and Advisory Services. Mr. Blechar specializes in the area of metadata management/repositories, information and data services from a service-oriented architecture (SOA) perspective, master data management (MDM) design of services, data modeling tools, solution and application architecture roles and responsibilities, business and IT collaboration, information analysis and design, technology life cycle risks, and the IT Market Clock brand of Gartner research.

Tom Carlock leads the data-as-a-service strategy for Dun & Bradstreet, the world’s leading source of commercial information. He has more than 16 years hands-on experience leading data management, application development and data integration programs. He is currently heading up D&B’s strategy to more effectively integrate data into the every-day business applications customers depend on, such as CRM. Prior to joining D&B, Tom held leadership positions at CIT and AIG, where he developed corporate data management programs focused on delivering a single view of global data, data governance and master data management.

Oliver is responsible for the SAP Enterprise MDM strategy across the MDM portfolio. Furthermore Oliver is particularly focused on the portfolio strategy across Lines of Business and Industries. Oliver most recently came from Informatica where he was responsible for Product Marketing for MDM, DQ, and Data Governance. Prior to Informatica Oliver was at IBM where he was responsible for the MDM COE and then MDM Product Management through the Initiate acquisition. Prior to IBM, Oliver started his MDM journey back at Siebel where he was one of the UCM solution architects in pre-sales.

David Corrigan is currently the Director of Product Marketing for IBM's InfoSphere portfolio, which is focused on managing Trusted Information. David has led the product management and product marketing teams for Master Data Management (MDM), and has worked in the Information Management space for over 10 years. Prior to joining IBM in 2005 via acquisition, David led product marketing/management at DWL, a Toronto-based MDM vendor. David holds an MBA from York University's Schulich School of Business, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto.

Jesse Crane is an IT Manager in the Enterprise Architecture group at Stryker Corporation, focused on the design and implementation of Stryker’s worldwide MDM applications. He has spent over 13 years in IT in a wide array of roles ranging from project manager, business analyst, consultant, to application manager. Prior to Stryker, he spent 5 years at Stanford University as the Applications Manager for the Oracle ERP group. Jesse has a degree in Finance from George Mason University and an MBA from Butler University.

Mark Evans serves as the Director of Content Publishing and Technology Applications at United Stationers, a leading North American wholesale distributor of business products, with 2010 net sales of $4.8 billion. The company stocks over 250,000 items from over 1,500 manufacturers and distributes products and marketing services to over 30,000 reseller customers. United Stationers is the 7th largest multichannel merchant in the US. In his role, Mark oversees teams in marketing, ideation and creative services, content management, and cross-media publishing. He has an extensive background in digital and electronic prepress, print production, interactive new media and production management. Mark has also served in IT management capacities. He has been a speaker at SAP Sapphire, The Digital Smart Factory, IPA, Web Offset and Seybold Seminars. He has authored two books on cross-media publishing and has written numerous articles.

Irma Fabular is a senior managing partner with Gartner Consulting. She leads the North America Consulting industry practices for education, academic medical centers and healthcare providers. Ms. Fabular has more than 25 years of experience in various aspects of information technology strategic planning, acquisition, implementation and project management. She has led many consulting engagements focused on optimizing the contributions of information technology solutions and resources to organizational performance and transformation. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, governance, IT services management, application software and integration service procurement, portfolio management, project and program office development, and independent verification and validation. Ms. Fabular has worked with several large organizations in education, healthcare, government and other nonprofit industries.

Ted Friedman is a vice president in Gartner Research, where he is a member of the Information Management team. His research focuses on data integration, data quality, information governance and information management strategy.

Dimitris Geragas joined Gartner Consulting's federal practice in November 2006 in Arlington, Virginia. He brings extensive and demonstrated experience in business alignment, IT strategy and governance, enterprise architecture, information and data strategy and management, and knowledge management. He is an expert in business intelligence, analytics, informatics and knowledge encapsulation and has broad experience in a wide range of business functions, including strategy, marketing, differentiation, finance and business development.

Kelly Koeller is a seasoned Information Management professional with over 20 years of experience. Throughout his career, Kelly has served in a variety of leadership roles at W.W. Grainger, Inc. His current role is as the Strategic Content Manager for the Product Management organization. He is responsible for the strategy and use of product data in enterprise wide initiatives. During the past 10 years, Kelly has been involved in spearheading Grainger’s adoption of MDM and Data Governance programs relative to product information. He regularly guides the organization in the acquisition and syndication of product data for the enterprise. Kelly was co-lead of Grainger’s Stibo implementation in 2010 that involved integrating two distinct business’ product information and publishing processes. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University.

Debra Logan is a vice president and distinguished analyst in Gartner Research. She covers information governance, e-discovery, legacy information management and strategic information management, along with new and emerging roles in the digital economy. She is currently working on topics including information archiving, information retention management, strategic information management and e-discovery market trends.

Himanshu has more than 17 years of experience in the Wholesale Distribution, Life Sciences, Medical devices, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Semi-conductor, Automobile, Manufacturing and Financial industries in the areas of Enterprise Package Software (MDM/ ERP/ SCM/ SRM/ PLM/ CRM/ EHS/BW/Protal) Project and Delivery Management, Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Global Delivery Model (GDM). Himanshu has been a speaker at various national and international conferences including MDM Data Summits, ASUG and SAPPHIRE forums. Himanshu has extensive subject matter expertise on Master Data Management, Data Governance, Customer Data Integration, Product Data Management and Catalog Data Management.

Bill O'Kane is a research director in the area of master data management (MDM) on the Information Management team within Gartner Research. He provides expertise and advice to Gartner's clients and staff in regard to MDM program management, MDM vendors and technologies, MDM implementation styles, and MDM's role within an overall enterprise information management (EIM) strategy, including data governance implementations.

John Radcliffe is a research vice president at Gartner in the information management team. His main research focus is master data management (MDM), with a special emphasis on MDM for customer data and creating the "single view of the customer." He has served as chair of Gartner's U.S. and EMEA MDM Summits and was lead author of Gartner's Seven Building Blocks of MDM. He analyzes and comments on the MDM market and helps clients achieve successful MDM programs.

Lyn Robison is a research vice president in the Data Management Strategies team of the Technical Professionals research group. Mr. Robison provides guidance on topics including data mobility, mobile data strategy, BI and mobility, master data management, data clouds, unstructured and semistructured data management, metadata management, and information quality.

Scott Schumacher, Ph.D., is a technology expert specializing in statistical matching algorithms for healthcare, enterprise, and public sector solutions. For more than 20 years Dr. Schumacher has been heavily involved in research, development, testing, and implementation of complex data analysis solutions, including work commissioned by the Department of Defense. Scott has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of California, Davis, and received his Master of Arts and Doctorate degrees in Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is currently a member of the Institute for Mathematical Statistics, the American Statistical Association, and IEEE.

Vi Shaffer is research vice president and global industry services director for healthcare providers at Gartner. As an analyst, she covers the office of the CIO and CMIO, including IT governance, strategic planning, and changing strategies and structures, and the key initiative of electronic health records. She also evaluates healthcare megasuite vendors and covers major innovations and changes in healthcare business/clinical applications and business/clinical analytics, including corporate performance management/cost accounting, revenue management, ERP, and awareness platforms.

Ravi Shankar is senior director of MDM Product Marketing at Informatica. Ravi is responsible for product and technical marketing activities for master data management (MDM) as part of the Data Quality business unit at Informatica. Ravi joined Informatica following the Siperian acquisition, where he ran product marketing. He helped position the company as a proven leader in multidomain MDM. With over 20 years of leadership experience, Ravi has directed product marketing, product management, and business development efforts at enterprise software leaders such as Oracle. Ravi is a published author and a frequent speaker on MDM and data governance.

Jim Sinur is a vice president in Gartner Research after a short stint with a BPM vendor. Prior to that, Mr. Sinur was with Gartner 15 years and helped establish the BPI/BPM areas at Gartner and is considered a thought leader. His research and areas of personal experience focus on business process improvement (BPI), business modeling, business process management technology (BPMT), processes for knowledge workers, process optimization business rules management (BRMS), and leveraging business applications in processes and goal-driven unstructured processes. Mr. Sinur was critical in creating the first Hype Cycle at Gartner, which has become a hallmark of Gartner analysis, along with the Magic Quadrant. He has been active in the rules, data and computing communities, helping shape direction based on practical experience.

Michael W. Smith is a vice president in Gartner Research, focusing on the value of IT. Mr. Smith's principal responsibilities include the development of business performance frameworks and methodologies to help organizations evaluate IT-enabled business initiatives. Mr. Smith's published research covers topics involving how to use business methodologies such as Kaplan and Norton's Balanced Scorecard and Six Sigma to demonstrate the business value of IT. Mr. Smith conducts workshops and assessments for Gartner clients and prospects.

Over the past 11 years, Brian Stinson has been involved with most of Intel’s largest Data Quality, Master Data and Business Intelligence initiatives. He played a key role in standardizing Item Master Data and delivering an integrated Bill of Materials for the corporation. He also championed a Data Governance campaign that enabled successful MDM implementations for Item, Commodity, Location, Supplier and Customer Master Data. He has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington. In his free time, Brian enjoys competing in Triathlons and has hiked across the Grand Canyon 16 times.

Mike is an accomplished and forward-thinking leader with 19 years overall IT experience and 13 years working with SAP applications, with a current emphasis on Analytics and Information Management. Over the last eight years, Michael has partnered with the business to deliver IT strategies to support strategic initiatives and business solutions focusing on usability, the integration of transactional and analytics content and master data. He is currently the Director of Enterprise Development and Technology Services, in the Information Management group. Chitra Sundaram is a Director-Enterprise Data Warehouse at PAREXEL International. Chitra has nearly 20 years of IT experience planning and executing global projects with teams across diverse groups. She has led the strategy, design and implementation of the company's enterprise data warehouse and master data management. She specializes in metadata management, data governance, master data management, business rules management, and database design.

Bill Swanton comes to Gartner through the AMR Research acquisition and brings more than 31 years of enterprise manufacturing expertise to his role as VP and distinguished analyst. Mr. Swanton covers application strategy and the business value of IT, including IT benefit realization techniques used by Fortune 1000 companies to expand the value they receive from their ERP and other applications investments. Recent areas of focus have been application organization maturity (ITScore), BPM for ERP, and MDM for ERP. Mr. Swanton has also analyzed the high-tech and discrete industries, with a specific focus on how brand owners, contract manufacturers, and other suppliers manage global demand-driven supply networks (DDSNs). His tenure at AMR Research enabled him to work in a variety of roles at the company. He built the manufacturing strategies service from a single analyst to a team of vertical-industry specialists covering aerospace and defense, automotive, chemical, CPG, high tech, and life sciences. In this role, he led the development of the firm's REPAC model of manufacturing processes. Mr. Swanton also launched AMR Research's product life cycle management coverage in 1997 and continues to follow its role in the larger enterprise architecture.

Andrew White is a research vice president, and his primary research focus is master data management (MDM). He specializes in the drill-down topic of creating the "single version of the product" using MDM of product data. Mr. White has a strong background in supply chain management (SCM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and multienterprise collaboration. His roles include key initiative lead for information governance and MDM programs, as well as back-up agenda manager for information management, and he also chairs the U.S. MDM summits. Mr. White received the Gartner Thought Leadership Award in 2006 for his effort in pioneering Gartner's research in enterprise information management that led to MDM.
