Tom Austin, vice president, has been a Gartner fellow since 1997. He drives Gartner's research content incubator (the Maverick Program). Mr. Austin has been chief of research for social software, collaboration, communications, information management, business intelligence and high-performance workplace (HPW) research. Today, collaboration, social process support, cloud-based application services (such as Google vs. Microsoft) and Enterprise 2.0 are some of his specialties. Greg is a true veteran of the Internet and its adoption as a significant business and marketing channel. Greg has an extensive knowledge of web strategy and content management systems and principles. Greg is a true veteran of the Internet and its adoption as a significant business and marketing channel. Greg has an extensive knowledge of web strategy and content management systems and principles. Diane Berry is a research vice president in Gartner's CIO and Executive Leadership Research group. She works with clients to address the multitude of IT workforce management issues. Her expertise focuses on how to enhance the performance of the IT organization through the effective recruitment, retention, management, and development of the workforce.

Ian Bertram is a managing vice president in Gartner Research, where he leads the Business Intelligence Research team globally and is the head of Research for Asia/Pacific. Mr. Bertram's team of analysts focuses on topics such as business intelligence strategy and platforms, analytics, corporate performance management, Web analytics, business activity monitoring and competency centers. The analysts within this team cover various countries across the globe, publishing research and advising clients on strategic and tactical advantages with respect to trends in business intelligence and information management. Mr. Bertram is based in the Gartner Sydney office.

Steve Bittinger is a research director in Gartner's Government Research group, based in Canberra, Australia. Mr. Bittinger's current research interests focus on a wide range of government issues, including IT workforce management, strategic planning, governance, process improvement, organizational change and information management.

Matthew Boon is a managing vice president and group team manager in Gartner Research, with global responsibility for the Technology & Service Provider Research group's Data Center team. Focusing on servers, networking, communications, storage, imaging and print services, and data center transformation the Data Center team covers trends and analysis of the marketplace with respect to data center technologies and issues. Mr. Boon's team of analysts spans the globe, reporting and advising on data center technology and market trends, publishing research, and advising clients on strategic and tactical advantages related to trends in global data center and related markets. Mr. Boon is based in the Gartner office in Sydney, Australia. In addition, Mr. Boon spends time researching and delivering advice and content on data center technology and deployment trends, particularly across the Asia/Pacific region. He is a frequent speaker at Gartner and industry events and is often sought for comment by the IT press on data center technology and market trends.

Brian Burke is an analyst for Gartner, specializing in enterprise architecture and IT portfolio management, and most recently developing research on the emerging gamification trend. His groundbreaking work in the development of federated architectures has been implemented in hundreds of organizations in both the public and private sectors. He is also a prominent researcher and speaker in the areas of IT strategy, IT organizational structures and business/IT alignment.

Shaun Butler is a Senior Technology Specialist for Corporate Express. Ms. Caminos has also covered the SMB and channels research area, as well as IT services, within Gartner in the U.S. and Asia/Pacific. Key research areas include vendor strategies, go-to-market strategies and user demands. Ms. Caminos is a regular presenter at local and international IT events and contributes regularly to Australasian and Asia/Pacific computing journals and publications. She resides in Auckland, New Zealand.

David Cearley is a vice president and Gartner Fellow in Gartner Research and is a leading authority on information technology. As a member of Gartner Research, Mr. Cearley analyzes emerging business and technology trends and explores how these trends shape the way individuals and companies derive value from technology. His current research is focused on cloud computing and how Internet and Web technologies, standards and business models are impacting the IT landscape.

Duncan Chapman is a U.K.-based vice president and executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs. His portfolio includes U.K. defense, utilities and professional services organizations. Chapman has 31 years IT and business experience.

Linda Cohen is a vice president and chief of research in Gartner Research, where she leads the worldwide focus and development of Gartner's sourcing research, providing life cycle advice to clients procuring or delivering strategic sourcing services. Ms. Cohen co-authored the book "Multisourcing: Moving Beyond Outsourcing to Achieve Growth and Agility," published November 2005 by Harvard Business School Press.

Ricardo has a strong background in technical consulting and strategic IT planning and has spent over 10 years working with Microsoft and Accenture (through a joint venture, Avanade) across Europe and Asia Pacific in various industries. Previously he has driven the technical strategy www.tesco.com in the UK and was the chief architect of www.tab.com.au in Australia. He has operated at the CTO level and currently works as an Enterprise Architecture Executive at the Commonwealth Bank Of Australia. Ricardo’s most recent focus has been on enterprise SOA and BPM.

Marcus Darbyshire is an executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs based in Brisbane, Australia. With 15 years of IT experience, including six years as a CIO, Mr. Darbyshire advises CIO members and supports their success in delivering exceptional business results while building their leadership capabilities.

Warren Darragh is a graduate of the Royal Military College Duntroon and served 15 years in the Australian Army, where he held a variety of leadership positions in the telecommunications and information technology fields. He saw operational service in Cambodia and with NATO in Bosnia. He holds a Bachelor of Information Technology degree, a Graduate Diploma in Communications and Information Systems Management, a Master of Information Technology degree, and is currently undertaking the AGSM Executive MBA. He is currently employed as Manager of Information Technology Services at Powerlink Queensland, which is Queensland's electricity transmission company.

Andrea Di Maio is a vice president and distinguished analyst in Gartner Research, where he focuses on the public sector, with particular reference to e-government strategies, Web 2.0, open government, cloud computing, the business value of IT, open-source software, green IT and the impact of technology on the future of government.

Donna Fitzgerald is the role service director for the Program and Portfolio research area. Her responsibilities include helping companies improve their program and portfolio management capabilities. Ms. Fitzgerald uses her personal experience in setting up and running PMOs, as well as managing programs and project portfolios, to help clients work out the quickest and easiest path to success.

David Furlonger is a vice president and Gartner Fellow. He leads the worldwide research agenda for the banking and investment services industry. His specific research focus is the Bank of the Future, including industry structure, trends and directions, IT and business strategy, customer experience and innovation; capital markets and treasury and trading, including core trading systems; and risk management and regulatory compliance. Mr. Furlonger is also charged with developing research on the Future of Money to investigate new forms of money and technologies connected to its use, across multiple industries.

Bill Gassman is a research director in Gartner Research, where he is part of the Business Intelligence infrastructure team. He is the lead analyst for the topics of business activity monitoring and Web analytics.

Dennis Gaughan is a managing VP within the Enterprise Software research team, focusing on enterprise applications. His research focus is on the enabling technologies that support those enterprise applications, including application integration and B2B infrastructure.

John E. Girard is a VP and distinguished analyst in Gartner's Info Security and Privacy Research Center. He specializes in business security and privacy solutions for wireless and mobile road warriors, extranet, remote offices and teleworkers.

Milind Govekar is a managing vice president with Gartner Research. In addition to managing a small global team, his focus is on cloud management platforms, IT financial management technology, workload automation, application management, performance and capacity management, and IT service management. He is often invited to be a keynote speaker at events globally, is a research conference chair for Gartner I&O events, and frequently advises executives in large and small enterprises, investors, and vendors.

Dave Guevara is a research director covering enterprise architecture. His areas of focus are the enterprise solution architecture (ESA), business strategic alignment of IT, and how EA relates to other disciplines. He led the team that developed the BankXYZ example materials that Gartner clients use as examples of EA artifacts, the application of Gartner recommendations for the EA program, and stakeholder engagement.

Gene Hall joined Gartner, Inc. as chief executive officer in August 2004. Since then, his focus has been on publishing market-leading research, developing differentiated offerings tailored to clients' individual needs and expanding the company's sales capacity and capability. These initiatives have resulted in all-time high levels of revenue, EBITDA and contract value. Hall came to Gartner from ADP, a Fortune 500 global technology and services company with over $7 billion in revenue, where he was a senior executive. As president of Employers' Services, Major Accounts division, Hall headed up a $2 billion human resources and payroll services business, overseeing 8,000 associates. During Hall's tenure, this business accelerated sales to new clients, achieved record client retention and delivered unprecedented quality scores. Concurrently, he led a 1,600-person software development and IT operations organization that introduced several new, high-growth products. Prior to this role, Hall was responsible for technology, strategy and new business development across the company. Before joining ADP, Hall was a director and senior partner with McKinsey & Company, a leading global management consulting firm. In his 16 years there, he focused on developing business strategies for leading technology companies and organizations where technology played a central role in the business. Hall graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and received a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.

Chris Handy’s irreverent sense of humour is the first clue that his nickname has nothing to do with the devout life and everything to do with the cheeky (in every sense) reputation and stature that good rugby hookers seem to retain for life. A devout Queenslander first and foremost, ‘Buddha’ is almost as synonymous with Queensland and rugby as Bundy Rum and XXXX beer. He is a brand ambassador for both. Once an accountant and publican, Buddha has the right occasion for every humorous story in his vast memory. Infamous for his Queensland parochialism and famous for his passion for Australian Rugby as both a Queenslander and Wallaby player and a commentator, Chris Handy has what every bloke at the party wants – a Bledisloe Cup victory in their career and the ability to tell the story, or any story, very well. A veteran of the sport, Buddha has complemented his playing career by maintaining and developing a quality group of business partners and relationships. He is heavily involved in community initiatives, a great role model and is a respected advocate for any company he represents.

Marti Harris is a research director in Gartner Research, where her research area is higher-education technology strategies, including administrative and academic systems, learning technologies, distributed learning, e-learning, social networking, and CRM for enrollment management.

Kimberly Harris-Ferrante is a vice president and distinguished analyst in Gartner Research, where she is responsible for monitoring the business and technology trends within the property and casualty and life insurance industries. She specializes in strategies and technologies in the global insurance sector for distribution, customer relationship management, exception-based underwriting, policy administration, claims management and administration, business process management, business intelligence, and infrastructure management and optimization. Michael's experience includes systems deployment and organisational change in Europe and the United States. Prior to joining the Group, Michael was VP Information Systems at Citibank. Janelle Hill is a vice president in Gartner Research. Her current research area is business process management disciplines (such as modeling, analysis, measurement, process ownership/governance, etc.) and BPM-enabling technologies. Her current research agenda emphasizes the value of explicit process management techniques in comparison to past implicit (embedded) process management approaches. She also focuses on linking business process improvement objectives to enterprise performance goals, objectives and strategies. She works with BPM vendors, helping them to differentiate their products and expand their market, as well as with end users, helping them to understand the best practices in BPM and make appropriate technology decisions to achieve their process management needs.

Elizabeth Holden, executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs, provides executive-level coaching, advice, and mentoring to large federal agency (civilian and DoD) CIOs in the areas of IT strategy and leadership, business solutions, portfolio and project management, acquisitions, budget and cost control, and vendor management. Geoff Johnson is a research vice president in Gartner, based in Brisbane, Australia. Mr. Johnson covers enterprise communications applications (particularly unified communications). His subject matter expertise is in enterprise networking, open access networks such as FTTP National Broadband Networks, and telecommunications in the Asia/Pacific region. His responsibilities include providing networking research and personal advisory services for Gartner clients. His particular skills and interests range from emerging communications developments to networking and telecommunications strategy and policy development. He provides advice on network strategy, design, implementation and operations for major corporations and government agencies.

Nick Jones is a vice president and Gartner distinguished analyst. Mr. Jones' research focuses primarily on mobile business, mobile technology, mobile applications and emerging technologies. His research coverage includes business-to-employee (B2E) and business-to-consumer (B2C) mobility; mobile commerce and payments; machine-to-machine (M2M) applications and technology; wireless technology; the impact of emerging technologies on mobility; and mobile application development. Phil Kearns is, without a doubt, one of Rugby’s most famous and respected sons. Phil’s comeback to the Wallaby side after an 18 month battle to overcome Achilles and knee injuries has been proclaimed as a symbol of his determination and quality as an enduring athlete. Australia’s most capped hooker, many rugby commentators acknowledge Phil as the world’s best rugby hooker. Phil played 67 test matches for Australia after making his test debut in 1989. He also played in the ‘Rest of the World’ side against the All Blacks for the New Zealand Rugby Centenary celebrations. Phil’s great ability as a player coupled with his leadership skills, both on and off the field, was recognised through his appointment as captain of the Wallabies on ten occasions throughout his career. A tenacious competitor, Phil epitomised the new breed of Australian sportsmen displaying remarkable talent, ability and determination. Despite setting himself exceptionally high standards in all of his pursuits, Phil remained throughout his playing career, the consummate team member. His candid wit and outgoing personality made him popular with teammates, supporters, media and even opponents. This popularity has continued through his media and other charitable commitments. Phil capped off his rugby career by playing an important part in the Wallabies World Cup win in 1999, the third world cup campaign for Phil. Since retirement, Phil’s career has remained hectic with his work as an Executive in the corporate world. Phil currently works with Investec and was previously Managing Director of ASK Solutions for Australia and New Zealand. In addition, Phil has his many commitments to the media (Fox Sports and Channel Nine) as well as his numerous charities. Phil was educated at Newington College and the University of New South Wales where he received his degree in Economics and Economic History.

John Kost is a group vice president in Gartner Research, where he leads the group of analysts providing research specific to the role of CIO, including Gartner's Executive Programs members, and the IT aspects of the roles of CFO and CEO. With his experience as a government CIO, he also writes research for government CIOs and continues to provide a worldwide leadership role in helping governments create, or re-create, the role of CIO and improve the effectiveness of the role. Mr. Kost is internationally renowned for his work in government information technology management and procurement reform. He also provides analysis about government customer service and case management.

Dale Kutnick is senior vice president and global head of Gartner Executive Programs. His primary responsibility is designing and developing innovative advisory programs and services for CIOs and senior business leaders to help them better manage and exploit IT economics and financials, risk and business enablement. Mr. Kutnick is actively involved in creating new research deliverables (including new websites, podcasts, webcasts and other content) and managing service quality as well as improving client support. Andy Kyte is a vice president and Gartner Fellow in Gartner Research and is a member of the Application Strategy and Governance team. This involves developing an understanding of best practices in application strategy and application life cycle management, covering both packaged applications and application development. Hung LeHong is a research vice president on the Executive Leadership and Innovation research team at Gartner. He focuses on senior executives and CIOs to help them anticipate changes to business models and consumer trends caused by technology disruptors. Mr. LeHong helps executives understand what's coming in the next three years or beyond so they can innovate today, to improve their position or effectiveness in the future. His latest research is in the areas of emerging trends, mobile commerce, context aware computing, and advanced analytics.

Bruce Lines has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree from Central Queensland University, a Master of Public Policy degree from Deakin University, and a Master of Business Administration from University of Canberra. Bruce's career in higher education began at the University of Queensland. He joined the Academic Registrar's Office in a policy role, before taking a position as a faculty manager. Bruce joined the University of Canberra in 2003 initially as Director, Student Services. He has held a number of roles at University of Canberra, including Academic Registrar. He was seconded to lead a major change management project in 2008, focusing on procurement and business process outsourcing. He was appointed Registrar in 2009. Over the course of his career, Bruce has presented conference papers and published in areas relating to tertiary education management. He has served on the Board of the Queensland Theatre Company, is a Board member of the Universities Admission Centre (UAC), and chairs the Board of the University of Canberra Union (UCU).

Jim Longwood is a research vice president in Gartner Research, where he is part of both the Asia/Pacific and global IT services teams. He is responsible for undertaking research on sourcing best practices, trends and market positioning of external service providers in the Asia/Pacific IT services market, as well as for providing industry analysis and strategic advice for regional Gartner clients and IT sourcing policymakers. Mr. Longwood is a regular presenter at various Gartner events in the region on the outsourcing life cycle, sourcing strategies, evaluation and selection, SLAs and OLAs, contract negotiations, and transition and management of service deals. He focuses on the service integration role, infrastructure outsourcing, system integration and cloud services, and also assists clients with consulting, BPO, shared services and offshore outsourcing deals. He has experience in a range of verticals, including health providers, government, utilities and resources.

Kyle has been with LeasePlan since 1995, progressing through the Finance, HR & IT Divisions. From 2005 to 2009, he played a lead role in a business transformation program, implementing SAP. Kyle now heads the IT Division with responsibility for a blended team of internal & external people, covering Technical Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, SAP Services, Business Strategy Deployment & Business Process Improvement.

Mark McDonald, Ph.D., is a group vice president, head of research in Gartner Executive Programs, and a Gartner Fellow. He is responsible for the research agenda focused exclusively on CIOs and the business of information technology. Mr. McDonald is the lead author of research in the areas of CIO credibility, the business use of advanced technologies, enterprise architecture and business process transformation. He is the co-author of the forthcoming book, "The Social Organization" (October 2011) with Anthony Bradley. He is also the co-author with Peter Keen of "The eProcess Edge" and the author of "Architecting Enterprises — Achieving Performance and Flexibility." He has also been interviewed or published in the Wall Street Journal, Computerworld, CIO Magazine, the Financial Times and other publications. He routinely works with senior business and technology executives and is currently working on the issue of innovation in management.

Ewen McKenzie enjoyed immediate success in his first season as Head Coach of the Queensland Reds in 2010, guiding the team to fifth place and their best result since 2002. A World Cup winning prop in 1991, McKenzie took up coaching after retiring as a player in 1997. He became a Wallaby Selector and worked as an assistant coach and coaching coordinator to both Rod Macqueen and Eddie Jones at the Wallaby level between 2000 and 2003. Ewen enjoyed coaching success at this level, twice in the Tri-Nations, against the British Lions and the Bledisloe Cup. He also was the Assistant Coach in the 2003 RWC where Australia lost the final in extra time. Ewen He succeeded Bob Dwyer as Head Coach of the Waratahs in November, 2003. He led the team to the 2005 Super 12 final in just his second year at the helm, and to the semi-finals in 2006 and final in 2008. He is currently the Waratahs longest serving coach in history. He was also involved as a coaching coordinator with the ACT Brumbies for three seasons including a Super 12 semi final and was also Australia A coach in 2005. Before joining the Reds, McKenzie was the Head Coach of French club Stade Francais, also taking them to a semi final in the Top 14 in 2009. As a player, McKenzie played 51 Tests across seven years for the Wallabies. He made his first wallaby tour in 1988 to the UK and played his first test match in 1990 against France. He represented a World XV in 1992 and the Barbarian for Australia, New Zealand and the British throughout his career. At the state level he was capped 37 times for NSW between 1987 and 1995 and another 36 times for the Brumbies (1996-97), also playing in the 1997 Super 12 final. A product of Scotch College, Melbourne, he was the second Victorian born and bred player to represent Australia after the great Sir Edward "Weary" Dunlop.

Rob McMillan is a Gartner research director in the ITL Systems Security & Risk team. Based in Sydney, he researches and advises clients on infrastructure protection issues.

Lars Mieritz is a vice president in Gartner Research. As part of the Business of IT Research group, his focus area is program and portfolio management, covering topics such as business case articulation and ranking, review and measurement of projects, programs and business outcomes, as well as defining and communicating success metrics and KPIs. Mr. Mieritz's published research covers models and frameworks, such as TCO or the Gartner Business Value Model and business communications and alignment through scorecards, dashboards or other performance management initiatives, as well as demonstrating the business value of IT.

Andrew Mills is the Chief Information Officer for the Government of South Australia, leading the development and implementation of across-government ICT strategy, policies, frameworks and standards. Andrew has worked in the public sector for 30 years, for both the South Australian and Australian Governments. He has been an executive in the SA Government since 1998. In that capacity he has worked on a range of projects including an innovative spatial information industry facilitation project, an ICT infrastructure project for the Parliament of South Australia and an Aboriginal Heritage project. Andrew has a BSc from UNSW and an MSc in Electronic Systems from Cranfield University in the UK.

Prior to HP, Paul held several consulting positions including; a freelance IT consultant and technical consultant with Unisys Australia.

Bjarne Munch is a principal research analyst in Gartner, based in Brisbane, Australia. Mr. Munch is also agenda manager for the research area Communications-Enterprise Strategies, which takes responsibility for Gartner's research coverage of areas such as best practices for enterprise network architecture, planning and standards, enterprise network infrastructure evolution, and vendor landscape. His responsibilities include research and advisory work in enterprise networking, network service procurement, IP telephony and unified communications, videoconferencing, and related services. His particular interests include enterprise network design, global and Asia/Pacific regional WAN services, application networking such as WAN optimization and application acceleration, and IP telephony and unified communications. Damien Murphy is the Systems Engineering Team Lead for Riverbed's Australian and New Zealand operations. Damien joined Riverbed in 2005 and has over 20 years of experience in IT Consulting roles in Europe, the US and Australia. Damien has a particular focus on application networking, desktop virtualization and storage technologies and was one of the first Citrix Certified Integration Architects (CCIA) in Australia and one of the first Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers (MCSE) in Ireland. Damien holds an Honours B.Sc. in Computer Science and Mathematics from University College Dublin, Ireland.

Tina Nunno is a research vice president in Gartner's CIO Research group based in Stamford, Connecticut. Ms. Nunno is responsible for conducting research and developing publications aimed at helping CIOs and their organizations around the world improve their performance and contribution. She specializes in CIO-related management issues including working with the board of directors, executive communication strategies, change leadership and governance strategies. She also focuses on issues specific to women in technology. Ms. Nunno's most recent research deals with navigating complex CIO decisions and sensitive organizational politics issues. She focuses on specific strategies and tactics for managing IT political land mines. Ms. Nunno also explores the use of more extreme political tactics in her research titled, "Machiavelli's Guide to IT."

Peter Redshaw is a managing vice president within the Gartner Industry Advisory Services team, where he focuses on outsourcing for banks and investment services (BIS) firms, such as stock exchanges, investment banks and wealth managers. Randy Rhodes is a research director in Gartner's Energy and Utilities Industry Advisory Service, focusing on power delivery applications, including energy management and supervisory control systems, geographic information systems, and other systems in T&D engineering and operations.

John Roberts is a research vice president and distinguished analyst in Gartner CIO Research, based in Asia/Pacific, where he specializes in business and IT transformation. Mr. Roberts conducts research and provides advice and support for Gartner clients on business and IT transformation, improving business processes, IT strategic planning and governance, business value of IT, organization and management strategies, and process and performance management.

Andy Rowsell-Jones is a vice president and research director in Gartner's CIO & Executive Leadership Research Team, with interests in business and technology strategy, management, organization, and profit and cost improvement programs. Mark Scott took up his appointment as Managing Director of the ABC in July 2006. Under his leadership, the ABC has dramatically expanded its services and its reach and now operates on an annual budget of over $1 billion. The ABC now provides quality news, information, entertainment and other content across an expanding array of platforms: four television channels; new digital radio channels to complement the four national and 60 local services; an elaborate online operation and customised material for mobile and other new media devices. Mark Scott was named Media Person of the Year in 2008 and made the Financial Review respected “Power” list in 2009. Before joining the ABC, Mark Scott held a number of senior executive appointments at Sydney-based media company Fairfax Media. Mark has post-graduate degrees from Sydney and Harvard Universities in Government and Public Administration.

John Sheridan joined the Defence Science and Technology Organisation in 1999 after 22 years in the Australian Army. In late 2000, he became the Senior Executive Assistant to the Chief Defence Scientist. John served as Defence’s lead IT architect from 2002 until 2007. From then until 2008, he was the acting Head of Information Systems Division, responsible for the design and development of Defence’s IT systems, leading over 500 staff and a project portfolio in excess of $100m. In August 2008, John was seconded to the Australian Government Information Management Office to negotiate the Microsoft Volume Sourcing Agreement, valued at over $250m and providing services for over 230,000 staff. He was then promoted to be Division Manager of Business Improvement Division, responsible for addressing ICT business as usual budget reductions across government. In this position, he successfully led the effort to save $1 billion in ICT expenditure over 2009-2013. From July 2009, John became the First Assistant Secretary Agency Services. His division’s responsibilities include whole of government matters such as australia.gov.au, Government 2.0, data centre strategy, coordinated procurement, improvements in the ICT industry marketplace, and telecommunications services including ICON, the Ministerial communications and telepresence networks and electorate office IT. He is a graduate of the Officer Cadet School, Portsea and the Army Command and Staff College. He has a BA(Hons) degree and a Graduate Diploma of Computing Studies from Deakin University, a Graduate Diploma in Management Studies, and a Master of Defence Studies from the University of New South Wales.

Robin Simpson is an executive partner for Executive Programs at Gartner. Based in Sydney, he provides advice, mentoring and coaching for the CIOs of some of Australia's largest companies. Kristian Steenstrup is a vice president and Gartner Fellow in Gartner Research and the industry services director for the Energy and Utilities Industry Advisory Service. As a Gartner Fellow, he is involved in cross-topic research across Gartner, leading research on IT and operational technology alignment. Additionally, he conducts and delivers utilities industry research on industry-specific business systems, including EAM, and work and asset management systems, and is responsible for vendor analysis in these areas. Since joining Gartner, Mr. Steenstrup has published research on comparative ERP studies, analysis of business applications in various markets, and application of software technology in the energy and utilities industry.

As Australian Government Chief Information Officer (AGCIO) and Deputy Secretary of the Department of Finance and Deregulation, Ann plays a vital and influential role in bringing about significant policy changes and practical improvements to the Australian Government’s use of ICT. Ann’s office, the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO), sits within the Department of Finance and Deregulation. AGIMO works across government to maintain Australia's position as a leader in the productive application of information and communications technologies. AGIMO’s portfolio of work is substantial and wide-ranging covering both policy and operational activities. AGIMO continues to lead the strategic direction for the government’s use of ICT with a focus on productivity and efficiency, together with the provision of value-add services to agencies. This includes the development of the Cloud Framework to support agencies use of cloud-based services, through the implementation of the coordinated ICT procurement panels for goods and services covering telecommunications, data centres, desktops and software and for the nation-wide TelePresence network. Following the government’s endorsement of Engage: Getting on with Government 2.0, AGIMO, as ‘lead agency’, has substantially completed the implementation of the work program for Government 2.0 reforms. Ann has more than 30 years’ experience in the public sector in Australia and the United Kingdom and has held a number of senior strategic policy development and managerial positions in the ICT public service sector. Ann’s prior experience includes: • General Manager, IT Planning and Refresh, in Centrelink’s IT Group (2003 – 2005); • Principal Adviser, e-Strategy, the National Office of the Information Economy (2002 – 2003); and • Director of e-Government, UK Government (1998 – 2002). Dr Nick Tate is National Treasurer of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and Director of the Australian Government's Research Data Storage Infrastructure (RDSI) project which is based at the University of Queensland (UQ). RDSI is a $50m project which aims to transform the storage of research data throughout Australia. He also chairs the Steering Committee for the National Research Network Project (NRN) which is supporting advanced networks for research. Prior to this, he was Associate Director of the Australian Research Collaboration Service (ARCS) which developed and deployed cloud computing and cloud storage services for Australian researchers. He was previously both IT Director at UQ and the Director of the Australian National Computer Emergency Response Team (AusCERT). He is also a Director of Higher Ed Systems Pty Ltd, Chair of the eResearch Australasia conference and chaired the World Computer Congress in 2010. He currently chairs the ICT Industry Workgroup representing the ICT industry in Queensland. Prior to UQ, Nick worked on the development of anti-missile missile systems for Royal Navy Warships, before spending twenty years working for investment banks, eighteen years in London and then two years with Macquarie Bank in Sydney, where he was responsible for the bank’s global IT infrastructure. He was Head of IT for the United Bank of Kuwait in London during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in the first Gulf war when there was a run on the bank and many strange requests from Baghdad! Nick holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, a Master's degree in Computer Science and a PhD in IT security. He is also a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered IT Professional, a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and a Fellow of the ACS. He has over 16 years’ experience at CIO level.

Gavin Tay is a research director in Gartner Research and a member of the Content, Collaboration and Social team. With more than 14 years of industrial experience in the content management, portal and social media arena, his research focuses on the challenges faced by CIOs, business IT management and architect teams in the adoption, governance, migration and integration of these technologies. Mr. Tay has also been instrumental in architecting complex applications and advising numerous large MNC organizations in the government, telecommunications and financial sectors. David Willis is chief of research for the communications area. Mr. Willis sets the direction and framework for worldwide integrative research across all aspects of mobile computing, networking and telecommunications equipment and services. He is responsible for research and advisory services in communications planning, metrics, infrastructure and sourcing strategies. Sven Wittchen is the Deputy CIO Transformation at the Australian Communications and Media Authority, where he is in charge of the transformation program, the program management office and the IT application development area. Prior to working for the ACMA Sven worked in the utility, media & telecommunications, resource and defence sector for the last 15 years in project and program related roles. For much of his professional career, Sven has focused on project and program management and capability improvement in an ICT and wider business context, especially as it affects achievement of and alignment to corporate objectives and realisation of benefits. He is working part time at the University of New South Wales in the field of strategic and change management.
