Egility Edge Update: ASaP On The Move!
Since our last issue of Egility Edge, featuring ASaP, MERANT's hosted development service, we have now signed on more than 500 developers at more than 50 customer locations. MERANT ASaP now also offers Mercury Interactive's load testing and Web performance tools.
ASaP was launched in September of last year and has been steadily adding new customers since then. "We were looking for a best-of-breed defect tracking and version control solution that was cost-effective and easy to deploy," said Armin Roeseler, director of software development for eReliable Commerce. "MERANT was able to deliver a powerful, cost-effective solution and as an added bonus, they had it up and running within 24 hours of signing the deal."
MERANT ASaP's customers include companies of all sizes, including eReliable Commerce, Verticore Technologies, LicenseOnline.com, SevenSpace, Inc., Agilent Technologies and most recently, Ford Automotive Remarketing Services.
"Reducing our time to market was the main driver behind selecting MERANT ASaP," said Andy Ma, senior director of architecture and planning at SevenSpace, Inc. "It used to take us weeks to set up development projects under software configuration management. Now with MERANT, it takes less than a day. Also, the cost of entry is very low. It's a great way for our developers to try out a tool."
