Mary Mesaglio is a Research Vice President with Gartner's CIO research team. She writes on how CIOs need to become bimodal and how to achieve that. She also helps large enterprises to innovate. Ms. Mesaglio's recent work includes "Bimodal IT: How to be Digitally Agile Without Making a Mess," co-leading Gartner's special report on bimodal and enterprise agility, and work on innovating the customer experience. She has also written on the psychology of serial innovation, how to develop an innovative culture and what world-class IT principles look like. Ms. Mesaglio is Canadian and is based in Barcelona, Spain. She has traveled extensively in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. She speaks English, Spanish and French fluently, is working on her Catalan, and has a smattering of Italian.

In 2003, Ms. Mesaglio rejoined Gartner as a relationship manager for Gartner Executive Programs, where she was responsible for CIOs and IT directors across Spain and Portugal. In 2007, Ms. Mesaglio joined the Gartner CIO Research team.
