Previous Experience

Prior to Gartner, Dr. Halpern had experience in most facets of design and engineering software. He was one of the earliest developers of Ansys computer-aided engineering software, which he also supported with training and consulting services. As a practicing engineer, Dr. Halpern worked in the defense industry where he was engaged in design and analysis work, which involved development of leading-edge simulation capabilities. This background was the foundation upon which he continues to advance concepts of product life cycle management that extend into evolving capabilities in systems engineering, product portfolio management and product cost estimating.
