Roles and Responsibilities

Dane Anderson leads the tech Product Management-Services Team focusing Large, IT/BP Services Providers and strengthening their businesses. Previously, Dane managed the Tech CEO team who focus on advisory and research for Technology and Service Providers between $1MM and $250MM in revenue. Previously, he led the Managed Business and Technology Services analyst team within Gartner's Technology and Service Provider Research organization; he and his former team, as well as new team members, continue to engage with providers of all shapes, sizes and specialties. When he first joined Gartner, Mr. Anderson held the position of Research Director and VP, focused on the IT services and outsourcing marketplace, with specific concentration on infrastructure and application outsourcing. Mr. Anderson has worked and continues to work with service work provider clients in analyzing and creating execution plans and strategies for the markets they serve, as well as user buying and adoption patterns and plans. He has also assisted user/buyer clients in navigating through all phases of the sourcing life cycle, including strategy development and action planning, provider evaluation and selection, contracting and negotiation, and managing service providers.

Previous Experience

Mr. Anderson joined Gartner in April 2005 with the acquisition of Meta Group, where he was Program Director for outsourcing and service provider strategies. Previously, he spent five years with Perot Systems in various areas, including human resources, corporate strategy, competitive analysis and global sales. Before entering the private sector, he served in the U.S. Army in various leadership roles for more than ten years, including eight years on active duty. During his military tenure, his primary focus was on task organization (organizational structure, strategy, and tactical/operational planning and execution) for battlefield logistics support, including command, control and communications.
