Mr. Jacobson previously led Gartner's MES/MOM coverage. Prior to joining Gartner in 2009, he held several positions within the manufacturing team at AMR Research, including: - Part of the research team that conceptualized and introduced Manufacturing 2.0 as a framework for next-generation manufacturing and precursor to today's Industrie 4.0 and smart manufacturing tenets. - Part of research team that developed the core capabilities for enterprise manufacturing intelligence (EMI), which today is foundational for inter- and intra-plant analytical applications. - Led coverage of strategic manufacturing technologies including MES, quality management systems (QMS), and midtier ERP applications. - Initiated the firm's coverage of environmental, health and safety (EH&S).
