Roles and Responsibilities
Mark Diodati is a Research Vice President in the Gartner for Technical Professionals research team. He provides guidance on a diversity of topics including IoT, IaaS, API protocols (such as OpenID Connect, OAuth and SCIM), identity in the cloud, multifactor authentication, federation, Azure AD and Office 365, and hybrid identity. He has contributed to many media organizations, including The Wall Street Journal, ABC News, NBC News, Forbes Magazine, CIO Magazine and The Boston Globe.
Mark Diodati's Recent Gartner Activity
At Ping Identity, Mr. Diodati focused on three areas. As conference chair for the Cloud Identity Summit, he defined the conference agenda, selected speakers and implemented a rigorous editorial review process. The conference grew 250% under his watch. As the company's competitive strategist, he delivered in-depth market insights that resulted in increased product investment and reduced the length of the sales cycle. He also created a collaboration environment so that people in the field could contribute key competitive insights. As a technical director in the CTO office, Mr. Diodati co-authored the company's two-year mobility product strategy, laid the groundwork for three essential GTM technology partnerships, collaborated on acquisition target analysis, and presented at conferences (such as the Gartner IAM Summit, AWS re:Invent and Cloud Identity Summit). Prior to Ping Identity, Mark worked at Gartner for nine years, leaving as Research Vice President. Mr. Diodati's product management endeavors at RSA and CA were devoted to listening to customer needs, developing strategic product roadmaps and delivering successful, timely products to market. The products that he has managed include web access management, federation, Unix security, single sign-on, provisioning, directories, mobile PKI, smart card and VPN. Early in his career, Mr. Diodati developed computer security, governance, auditing and financial skills at Arthur Andersen. He implemented the first information security systems for internet banking, data warehousing, Unix, strong authentication and the network at Metavante (now FIS Global), a financial services data processing organization with more than 5,100 clients, including the largest 20 banks in the United States.
