Roles and Responsibilities

Joseph (Joe) Bugajski manages global Data and Analytics Leadership research in the Gartner for IT Leaders (ITL) service. His analysts guide chief data and analytics officers (CDOs); data strategy, management and infrastructure; and business analytics, data discovery, BI and advanced analytics. His research interests span CDO, data and analytics strategy, and organizational issues. Mr. Bugajski is industry advisor to MIT's CDO program that he co-founded with Prof. Rich Wang. He is emeritus chair of the Finance Task Force of OMG.


Previous Experience

Mr. Bugajski was Visa International's CDO, with global responsibility for the near-faultless operation of VisaNet, the world's largest payment network. His CDO program added $2 billion annual payment volume. Before becoming CDO, Mr. Bugajski was chief system architect and resident entrepreneur responsible for Visa's back-office, billing, risk, business intelligence and analytics solutions. Prior to joining Visa, Mr. Bugajski was CEO of Triada, a global data analytics software provider.
