Previous Experience

Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Gaehtgens worked as a trusted Technology Advisor to large corporations and public institutions in Europe, USA and Latin America. He was also involved in high-tech ventures, most recently as a Co-Founder of Symlabs, a virtual directory vendor, where he served as an interim CEO, product manager and architect. As an advisor, Mr. Gaehtgens has worked in various industries, especially automotive, telecom, government and finance. During his 25 years in the IT industry, Mr. Gaehtgens has worked with many technologies in different positions from technical to management. His career spans a full cycle from developing device drivers for UNIX systems, through building ISPs from the ground up to ultimately helping to lead IAM teams and manage IAM initiatives.
