Peter Liu is a Research Director in Gartner's CSP (Communications Service Provider) Technology organization. His covers mainly CSP services and infrastructure strategies, particularly communication service evolution (VoLTE, RCS, instant messaging) and mobile core infrastructure (5G, EPC, service chain, SDN/NFV) transformation. He also follows CSP's new digital services strategy (IoT, video) and their impact on the network infrastructure. His research covers a broad range of topics related to the transformation of CSP technologies, infrastructures and services to fulfill the new digital service needs. He works primarily with technology/business strategy planner of CSP and network equipment vendors, and also produces strategic and quantitative research targeted at ISPs, IT organizations and investors. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Liu held various technical and management positions in the telecom industry, including Senior Business Consultant and Head of Solution Architecture (Core and IMS) at Ericsson, Region China and East Asia. His prior roles include project management, solution architecture, system integration and software development with an experience of working in more than 10 countries.
