Katherine Lord is the Managing Vice President for the Data Center Convergence group, managing a team of global analysts. Her group covers trends and disruptive forces facing the data center market, data center technologies and how such technologies contribute to enterprise digital transformation. The team's main audience is technology and service providers, and guidance is provided on strategic matters such as product plans, go-to-market/positioning, partnerships and M&A. In addition, the team provides guidance to end users on topics such as network architectures, technology acquisition and vendor negotiations. Prior to joining the Data Center Convergence group, Ms. Lord was a Research Director and Agenda Manager for the IT Leaders IT Operations Management (ITOM) team.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining Gartner, Ms. Lord spent 11 years in ITSM consulting and education, with experience in executive advisory, stakeholder management and management consulting - with a focus on IT operations and overall IT service management. Ms. Lord also has expertise and a proven track record with organizational change, lean transformation, and knowledge management and ITSM program management. Her current specialties include organizational change management (Prosci-certified change manager), lean transformation, knowledge management (KCS), ITSM, governance and risk management, value dashboards/KPI and metric programs, organizational structural realignment, and organizational change/cultural aspects of IT service management. Prior to consulting, she spent more than 12 years managing IT operational functions and internal consulting predominantly in the ITSM operational space - specifically, service desks, IT operations and field services within Canada and the U.S.
