Roles and Responsibilities

Michelle Coelho is a Managing Vice President and Team Manager for Gartner's Data & Analytics Data Management II team. Her team covers topics including master data management, data fabric, governance, metadata management, and data integration. Previously, Ms. Coelho was the team manager for the Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) team of analysts. When Ms. Coelho was an analyst, her research focus included portfolio, program, and project management, business transformation, operational excellence practices, process improvement, and adopting enterprise agility. Ms. Coelho has over 20 years of experience in various PPM and process improvement roles. This includes creating and leading Portfolio Management Offices (PMOs), transforming processes across multiple industries as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and experience consulting with large government and private-sector clients in various methodologies. Ms. Coelho was also part of the early adoption of Agile practices in financial services and has extensive experience transforming organizations from waterfall to Agile. Her professional accomplishments include success in implementing and leading multiple enterprisewide Project Management Office (PMO) functions; process improvement expert with success in accomplishing substantial financial benefits and recognition for achievements in financial services, retail, telecom industries, and government/public sector clients; extensive experience in analytics and managing key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve customer experience and mitigate operational risks; adviser and coach to Program/Project Managers, and Lean Six Sigma practitioners; proven leader of multiple operational organizations including quality assurance, financial processing, and engineering staff.
