Mr. Valdes has 20 years of experience in software product design, internet development and startup management. He has been a principal or co-founder of a half dozen technology startup ventures, in the areas of mobile platforms, web portal solutions, digital music and product search engines. He has also worked for some of the leading technology vendors. Prior to joining Gartner, he was head of software development for a mobile platform vendor, helping build innovative foundational technology that garnered 35 patents. Previously, he was VP of Software Development at CKMP, a leading vendor of internet portal solutions that eventually went to IPO. Mr. Valdes has also served as vice president - engineering - for an internet music company, as well as co-founder of a computer graphics technology company. He is familiar with technology design, as well as competitive business strategy.
