Deputy Secretary Customer Strategy and Technology
Joost joined Transport for NSW as Deputy Secretary Customer Strategy and Technology in March 2020 and leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies and policies for the Transport cluster. Joost is also responsible for technology innovation and data analytics to provide integrated customer-centred mobility solutions covering MaaS, digital customer channels, CAVs, congestion management systems, SCATS venture, open data and quantum computing. Joost also manages the Opal ticketing, concessions, public affairs and marketing functions.

Joost’s career has been built around his ability to set strategy, define technology-driven reform and deliver customer-centric solutions. Prior to joining TfNSW, he was the General Manager Enterprise Transformation at the Services Australia and a Partner, Managing Director and Senior Advisor of The Boston Consulting Group for nearly two decades. At BCG Joost was a member of BCG’s global Public Sector and Technology Practices, and the global technology in government topic leader. He holds a BA and PhD in Electronic Engineering and an MBA.
