Kayelle Drinkwater

Chief Data Officer and General Manager, Department of Industry, Science and Resources
Kayelle serves as the Chief Data Officer and General Manager in the Australian Government Department of Industry, Science and Resources. She is responsible for running a full data service to the department of 3500 employees, providing self-service and full-service data and analytics products to the department contributing to economic growth for all Australians. Datasets used range from emerging industries such as space, decarbonisation and manufacturing batteries, to mining and resources and everything in between.
In addition, Kayelle provides leadership in data strategy, data services and data literacy across the Australian Public Service. Kayelle is heavily involved with data teams across Canberra in working with their executives in responding to weather emergencies and building data platforms and data sharing that support multiple agencies for the benefit of Australians.
Kayelle holds a Master’s Degree in Health Informatics (Health & IT). Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and dancing.
