Maiko Ito

Actress, Business Manager, Researcher
Ito made her debut as a pop singer in 1983. Currently, while acting in TV dramas and movies, she also serves as the president of a TV program production company, RightStuff Co., Ltd. In 2010, she enrolled at Waseda University. During her master's program, she was involved in research on medical/welfare robots that can help the elderly to prevent locomotive syndromes. After entering the doctoral program, she studied Biomedical Gerontology. She is currently collaborating with the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences of the University of Tokyo on anti-aging studies while working as a research student at the graduate school of Waseda University. Since 2021, she has been a member of the Cabinet Office's Council for Creating the Future of Education, where she makes proposals regarding the future education of children. In 2021, she was appointed as an outside director of Tasuki Corporation and in 2022, of Riso Kyoiku Co., Ltd.
