Drawing on a long and varied career as an entrepreneur, CEO, Executive director and Board member at leading organizations, Alan will share thoughts on the expectations that CEOs and boards have from IT and suggest ways in which IT Leaders can get a seat at the decision making table. He will talk about how the future can be shaped by staff at all levels of an organization and how crafting successful change is the responsibility of all, most especially, increasingly, the digital experts.

More about Alan:

Alan Rosling is a strategic advisor focused on assisting international companies with Asian strategy, most particularly India-related.  He also assists smaller growth companies as they ramp up.

 

He is co-founder of ECube which has announced the Q-ECube India ESG Fund in joint venture with Quantum Advisors to invest in listed mid-cap Indian equities intent on upgrading their ESG performance.

 

In 2010, Alan co-founded Kiran Energy, one of India’s first independent solar power producers.  Kiran was acquired by a strategic buyer in 2018.

 

He is a Non Executive Director of Coats Group Plc and Constellation Alpha Capital Corporation.  He is also Senior Advisor to Navam Capital, an early stage technology venture fund which nominated him to the Board of Vyome Lifesciences.  He works with a number of other early stage companies including Peotic Technologies, Insolight and RedGirraffe.com.

 

Alan was an Executive Director of Tata Sons Limited for five years from 2004 and was the Director responsible for internationalizing the Tata Group. From 1998 to 2003 he was Chairman of the Jardine Matheson Group in India. His earlier career included the Policy Unit at No.10 Downing Street; Strategy Director at United Distillers, CEO of a division of Courtaulds Textiles and S.G. Warburg

The panel discussion will bring together IT Leaders who have been instrumental in driving the cloud strategy for leading organizations in India. The panel will discuss the following:

 

  • Experiences on their cloud computing journey. In this context, cloud can mean private cloud, public or community cloud
  • The strategic value of cloud — key aspects such as apprehensions, rationale, cloud costs, security, governance, organization culture and technology
  • The participants view on the future of cloud computing within their organization, as well as areas of improvement for the cloud vendor community

More about Grandhi:

Grandhi currently leads Flipkart's Private Cloud Platform (Data Centers, IaaS & PaaS) and Security. Grandhi has about 3 decades of experience building software products across diverse environments (cloud and onpremises, V1 and mature products, startups and large companies, enterprise and consumer space). 

 

Grandhi was part of the leadership team @ Apigee,a leader in API Management (acquired by Google). Some of his past experiences include engineering and product roles at Microsoft, Amazon, GE and Verifone. Grandhi holds a Bachelors in Computer Science from BITS Pilani.

Mr. Kiran Mathew Thomas has been with the Reliance Group for the past 20 years and is now serving as the President at Reliance Industries Limited and a Director on the Board of Reliance Jio. He was one of the initial members of the core team that developed the business blueprint and project plan for Reliance Retail and Since Reliance’s purchase of 4G spectrum in 2010, he has been part of the core team responsible for Strategy, Planning, Project execution and launch.

 

At Jio, he is responsible for Technology Innovation and the development of Jio’s next-generation software platforms. This includes the systems that handles more than a million sign-ups at Jio per day, more than 10 million recharges and payments a day, network systems that handle nearly a million events per SECOND, and most recently the Jio KBC application than enabled more than 5 million simultaneous users to play along LIVE with KBC TV program .

As a part of the core leadership team of Reliance Jio, Anish focuses on developing Digital Platform strategies, building Technology Teams and partnering with Technology providers from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. As Chief of Information Technology, Anish leads strategy, direction, and growth of the IT organization.

 

Anish has over 20+ years of experience working in Information Technology across a range of industry sectors viz. Manufacturing, Retail, eCommerce, Telecom and Digital Services. Prior to, Anish’s past professional experience includes working as CIO for Shoppers Stop, Heading IT at Godrej-GE Appliances LTD and started his career as R&D Engineer in CAD/CAM/Network product division of Godrej & Boyce LTD.

Dr. Neeta Verma is the Director General of National Informatics Centre, the Premier ICT organization of Government of India. She has over 35 years of experience in implementing digital initiatives across the country. As DG-NIC, she is guiding development of Digital Platforms for different sectors of development as well as provisioning of state-of-the-art ICT Infrastructure for Government Institutions across India. She has been associated with the introduction of World Wide Web Services in Government since 1996 and with large number of Government Departments on their Portal Development strategies.

 

She has developed e-Government Toolkit for developing Nations on the behest of UNESCO in 2005. She has also authored guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW), widely referred by departments across Central and State Governments.
