Next generation Cyber Defense by leveraging Big Data Technology

Cybersecurity teams of large enterprises are grappling with a dual problem of severe skills shortage on one hand and an increasing pressure on the other hand, to detect and respond to a wide range of security incidents before they adversely harm business operations. A next-generation cyber defense center needs a technology-driven approach to bring down the Mean Time To Detect (MTTD) and Meantime To Respond (MTTR) metric. This case study will talk about a mechanism for augmenting the threat management capabilities of a traditional SIEM-Centric SOC by building a big data analytics platform for achieving the said objective.

The session will also cover the key considerations and challenges involved in architecting such a security analytics layer, crucial insights gained during the implementation phase and finally the pre-requisites and operational processes that are required to ensure that the project continues to deliver its envisioned outcomes.
