Two major investments by the Victorian Government over the last two years are paying dividends for students and teachers. The first of these is the deployment of Minecraft: Education Edition (M:EE) across all Victorian government schools. The Department of Education and Training Victoria and the Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project have collaborated to create the mini Melbourne world, rendering the city of Melbourne in exquisite Minecraft detail. This is not the only way in which M:EE is being used. This case study will provide an insight into how schools are linking M:EE to the delivery of the Australian curriculum in K-12. The second initiative is the deployment of Webex Teams to all Victorian government schools – the largest global deployment in education. This case study shows how virtual learning not only removes location as a barrier to choice in learning but also provides teachers with recognition of their use of technology in the classroom to deliver engaging content in a collaborative way.
