It is fundamental that enterprises develop metrics and goals that lay out their digital business in order to succeed and describe their success to stakeholders. Although, how would you quantify the progression made by a digital business?

 

The best metrics:

  • Have a clearly defined and defensible causal relationship to a business outcome
  • Working as a leading, not lagging indicator
  • Address a specific defined, defined audience
  • Can be understood by a non-IT audience
  • Drive ACTION when they change from green to yellow to red
