The traditional data center and its services have given way to a hybrid mix of on-premises, edge-based, colocated and cloud-based services. Modern IT infrastructure can, and will, be distributed to wherever it is needed to support specific workload types and, as cloud computing enters its second decade, enterprise IT has embraced the concept of multi-cloud as an accepted delivery model for enterprise applications. This track explores the methods and options available today for developing a successful hybrid cloud strategy, deploying workloads and creating an agile enterprise.

I&O leaders must be willing to embark on “creative destruction” — fundamentally rethinking the technology architecture, processes and people required for next-generation workloads, including IoT, Endpoint and Edge environments. This change will not be easy, given existing pressures to move faster, while simultaneously running and maintaining the existing IT infrastructure. Automation of repetitive processes will be critical for IT's success. This track focuses on the processes, automation, technologies and human capabilities required to deliver the desired business outcomes when managing complex environments.

Meanwhile, new business strategies and the proliferation and analysis of data are putting new pressures on IT infrastructure. This track will focus on how to support traditional infrastructures as you acknowledge the need to simultaneously implement an agile approach.

Enterprises are rapidly becoming digital businesses — connecting people, businesses and things to increase revenue, efficiency and time to market. However implementing new technologies, using existing approaches, in support of these initiatives will not be sufficient. Cultivating an IT culture that can adapt quickly to support the business and new technology trends is a critical requirement. This track helps I&O leaders understand how to optimize existing resources and drive cultural-change within teams while expanding and transforming I&O’s value proposition in the long term.
