Alex Izaguirre

Chief Data Officer
Alex currently serves as the Chief Data Officer (CDO) for Weill Cornell Medical School and is charged with developing a comprehensive data and analytics vision aimed at helping the missions make better data informed decisions. Previously, he served as the CDO for New York City’s Health and Hospitals corporation, the largest public health system in the United States where he led the rapid development of key solutions supporting situational awareness, clinical operations optimization and resource/staff planning for the world’s largest medical emergency of our lifetime, the COVID-19 pandemic.

He served as assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine as well as Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where he taught immunology to medical school students and physician assistants in training. In addition to his Ph.D. in viral immunology, Alex holds an M.B.A. and Bachelor of Arts in biology and psychology and a minor in mathematics, from Rutgers University in NJ.
