Alex serves as the Chief Data Officer of New York City’s Health and Hospitals corporation, the largest public health system in the United States. He is responsible for developing a comprehensive data and analytics program aimed at helping the system make better data informed decisions.

Working with an amazing team of data professionals, he led the rapid development of key solutions supporting situational awareness, clinical operations optimization and resource/staff planning for the world’s largest medical emergency of our lifetime, the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alex served as assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine as well as Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where he taught immunology to medical school students and physician assistants in training. In addition to his Ph.D. in viral immunology, Alex holds an M.B.A. and Bachelor of Arts in biology and psychology and a minor in mathematics, from Rutgers University in NJ.
