Distinguished VP Analyst
Jackie Fenn is a Distinguished VP Analyst and Gartner Fellow Emeritus in Gartner's CIO Research group. Ms. Fenn works with organizations to define and apply best practices in innovation, including assessing innovation maturity, launching an innovation program or group, defining an innovation process and imagining future scenarios. She advises on how to drive a culture of creativity, and the role that behavioral science insights can play in improving innovation, engagement and outcomes.

Ms. Fenn is the originator of the Gartner Hype Cycle model, which has been adopted by news media and other organizations worldwide to explain how technologies move from hype to disillusionment and beyond. Her book "Mastering the Hype Cycle: How to Choose the Right Innovation at the Right Time" was published by Harvard Business Press in 2008 and was featured as a CIO Magazine Top Ten Book. She is also author (under the pen name J.A. Knight) of the techno-thriller novel "Gone Viral", which was awarded a starred review by Publisher's Weekly.
