2018 Conference Highlights

The 2018 IT Sourcing, Procurement, Vendor & Asset Management Summit focused on building competencies, engaging and influencing internal stakeholders and providers, and optimizing costs to drive business outcomes.

Automation, Automation, Automation

The theme of automation was popular as attendees looked for insights to help achieve new levels of efficiencies and cost savings in outsourcing agreements. This year, 83% of shared services and 70% of finance organizations are experimenting or using robotic process automation (RPA), showing dramatic improvements in productivity and KPIs.

Emerging Trends — Procurement

Some emerging trends included:

  •  Leveraging data and artificial intelligence to make the best buying decisions for products and services.
  •  Blockchain- buyers across industries are leveraging the expertise of consultancies to understand how to best utilize this emerging technology.

The jury is still out on whether insourcing will become a trend, but as enterprises emphasize technology as part of their growth and competitive strategy, the concept of insourcing is increasingly in consideration.

"I always come away with fresh ideas and an invigorated attitude after attending the Gartner IT Sourcing, Procurement, Vendor & Asset Management Summit. This year was no exception. Excellent!"
