Case Study: Learnings From Implementing Multi-Dimensional Supply Chains

When it comes to managing transportation and DC/Mixing Center operations, one size no longer fits all use cases. Historically, P&G has been ‘buy’ vs. ‘make’ in these areas. Over the past three years, P&G started in-sourcing parts of its U.S. network operations. The intent was to learn about the industry and operations to be a better supplier and get improved E2E results. The learnings have been significant and meaningful, especially when business conditions change. This led to a strategy of multi-dimensional supply chains – with operating strategy adjustable based on business conditions vs. fixed approach. This session will discuss P&G’s range of learnings including how to ensure drivers have repetitive routes/home time to increasing safety, upskilling, visibility to insights from in-sourcing warehouse operations, and how these learnings get reapplied across the supplier network.
