According to the Oxford English Dictionary, “usability” is the degree to which something is able or fit to be used. For supply chain planning technology, some aspect of usability is typically at the center of why SCP technology is seen as “wrong.” The usability threshold for SCP technology increases as companies mature their planning capabilities. According to our latest supply chain user wants and need survey, approximately 60% of companies are at Stage 1 or 2 in supply chain planning maturity.1 This essentially means their planning is either departmentally or functionally focused instead of integrated or unified across the end-to-end supply chain.
