Use the sustainable development goals framework

Analyst(s): Pam Fitzpatrick and Caroline Chumakov

In 2015, the United Nations (U.N.) facilitated world leaders' approval of 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs). The SDGs are a framework of measurable goals to guide private, public and social sector investments and actions toward solving the world's most complex social and environmental problems, such as poverty, hunger, health, environmental protection and gender equality. The SDGs ask for business, government and nongovernmental organizations to work in partnership to address these global challenges and solve them by 2030.
