Gartner’s 2018 CEO and Senior Executive Survey reveals that CEOs face a major human capital retooling when it comes to talent and skills. Lack of appropriate talent was a recurring theme in the survey, indicating a huge void that CEOs must solve to embrace digital business.

When asked about the most significant internal factor inhibiting growth, various “employee issues” topped the list, followed by talent and skills. This closely aligns with Gartner’s annual CSCO survey data, showing that attraction, retention and development of skilled talent are top internal and external obstacles to achieving business objectives.
