In today’s job market, current recruiting approaches are increasingly ineffective. Traditionally, when faced with a paucity of talent in critical roles, recruiters will increase the number of sourcing channels they use.
However, recruiters are already using up to six sourcing channels, including professional networking sites, social networking sites, employee referrals, internal labor markets, career fairs and search firms. As such, continuing to expand the number of channels will likely have diminishing returns.
Instead, leading companies are working to increase the pool of available talent for each position by sourcing roles with internal talent, and increasing flexibility around hiring requirements to tap into new labor market opportunities.
