Business leaders are attracted to robotic process automation technology as it automates repetitive tasks and saves time and money for enterprises, but it also creates security and noncompliance risks. 

RPA involves two main risks — data leakage and fraud and proper governance. Including security is essential to mitigate these risks. To address the security failures in RPA projects, security and risk management leaders must: 

• Ensure accountability for bot actions
• Avoid abuse and fraud from breaks in segregation of duties
• Protect log integrity and ensure nonrepudiation 
• Enable secure RPA development
