This week I joined two AMR Research sales executives, Kevin Callahan and Helen Scott, for a week-long trip to India to meet with clients. My goal was to get an update on the plans and strategies of seven of the largest Indian services firms. We specifically requested that they present information on three subjects: their SAP and Oracle ERP practices, service-oriented architecture strategies, and product engineering services. We also arranged to meet with IBM Global Services to discuss a similar agenda. Why? IBM has quietly built a 50,000 employee presence in India, its largest employee base outside of the United States.
