AMR Research recently spent a few days in Orlando at the RFID Journal Live event, one of the premier showcases for RFID technology. The focus of the vendors in attendance has shifted away from technology toward specific business problems customers can solve, which is a huge step forward. However, the market still seems to be largely stuck in eternal pilot mode, and a wave of consolidation will be required to help drive the industry toward real growth, which creates the ultimate chicken-egg scenario.
