Siemens PLM recently launched Teamcenter 8, which extended the depth of functionality available on the unified architecture introduced in Teamcenter 2007. Also launched was Tecnomatix 9, with its emphasis on improving process planning and manufacturing productivity. Both applications have traveled a long road from fragmented toolsets to applications on common platforms. These recent releases broaden the portfolio with new capabilities, but also strengthen the usability and automation needed to achieve greater user adoption.
