While some view contract manufacturing like any other supplier relationship, brand owners need more visibility into and control of implement demand-driven supply networks. Rapidly changing demand, time-to-market pressures, use of overseas contractors, and the need to protect brand image make manual processes for establishing and monitoring contract manufacturing relationships untenable.
