The subject of Master Data Management (MDM) is generating a lot of buzz these days. Part of the interest is because of the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) activities of the past few years. In most organizations, these initiatives are separate and distinct, but if enterprises are ever going to truly realize the vision of streamlined, cleansed data that actually creates advanced supply chain interactions between trading partners, the two efforts must be part of a single, company-wide vision.
