IT matters, sort of. That was the conclusion of a debate between Nicholas Carr, author of Does IT Matter?, Eric Brynjolfsson, director of MIT's Center of eBusiness, and others at AMR Research's Executive Leadership Conference. Despite appearances of rabid disagreement on the importance of technology in today's business environment, there was one underlying theme upon which all parties seemed to agree: IT is not the end all and be all of today's business world, but it can play a vital role in what makes good companies great.
