Summary

Another trading exchange bites the proverbial dust--this one much more visible than many. Rumors have been flying for weeks that PetroCosm was about to be bought from its three other shareholders outright by Chevron, a co-founder with Ariba in January 2000. Texaco, which joined the exchange two months later as a founding member, and Crosspoint Ventures, were the only other investors. The deal didn't go through and PetroCosm was scrubbed.
