Dairy.com officially opened its Dairy industry Consortium Trading Exchange (CTX) a month ago and is off to a running start. Dairy.com serves the entire industry, providing everything from farm services like herd analysis and veterinary advice, to a commodity exchange that allows manufacturers to purchase cream and balance their pooled milk. A consortium of eight leading dairy organizations, including Kraft Foods, Land O'Lakes, and Dairy Farmers of America, founded the company in July 2000. Since then, a majority of dairy organizations have participated in the exchange, with over $18M transacted to date.
