Cargill, the world's largest privately owned Food and Consumer Packaged Goods manufacturer/distributor, will install Compex's Manufacturing & Quality Management Suite in three European tropical oils plants. Compex's software includes a corporate product specification management system, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Cargill's first goal is to implement a common IT technology and coding standards platform across all plants, making it easier to service customers, and ship any product to any customer from any site. The second goal is to standardize and harmonize product specifications across sites to reduce variability and improve product quality. This strategy will make it easier for Cargill to integrate products acquired in mergers and acquisitions.
