Mountain Systems, Inc. (MSI) recently acquired a Web-based application for monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The product, called Executive Information System (eIS), was developed by a leading paper manufacturer to track unit production costs, unit sales costs, resource consumption, and other critical production statistics. It provides a framework for generating and distributing browser-based reports throughout an organization. It supports both predefined and ad-hoc reports. In addition to the application itself, MSI will inherit the four developers who created eIS. MSI plans to use the developers to continually add new functionality to eIS and develop links to other applications, such as financial systems.
