Taking advantage of rocky economic conditions and a weakened set of competitors, Descartes continued its aggressive expansion plans by acquiring two more companies to expand its Global Logistics Network (GLN). With a $22.9M stock swap for trucker messaging services vendor TranSettlement, Descartes gains new messaging capabilities for its GLN, helping it expand to all modes of transportation. TranSettlement will operate as an independent unit, bringing Descartes an estimated 70% share of the motor freight Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Internet-centric transaction messaging in North America and new sales opportunity to expand GLN in the sector.
