Siebel Acquires OnLink Technologies

Siebel Systems Inc. continued to shore up its e-business credibility by acquiring Redwood City, CA-based OnLink Technologies, Inc. in a stock deal valued at $609M. OnLink's products set up Website catalogs, configure products online, and guide and advise customers using a company's e-commerce system. In April, Siebel acquired OpenSite, Inc. in a $444M stock swap, to support various selling options such as forward and reverse auctions and trading exchanges. OnLink revenue in the first six months of this year soared to $4.7M, up from a total of $2.2M for all of 1999, but the company also posted $13M in losses.
