Total DBMS software revenue shrank approximately 1% in 2009. Among the top five vendors, Sybase boasted the fastest growth at 9%; Microsoft distantly followed with 3%. Oracle, IBM and Teradata all suffered declines in growth, which ranged from negative 1.8% to negative 2.2%.
