Summary

Symantec's Control Compliance Suite (CCS) includes significant capabilities to assess the security status of operating systems and some network devices. Internal workflow for policy, exception, and entitlement management is a highlight of the product but there are weaknesses in remediation. Symantec plans to integrate CCS with Altiris to extend the product's remediation capabilities beginning in late 2008. In this Product Profile document, Service Director Eric Maiwald examines the features, shortcomings, and future of the Symantec CCS.
