Large IT organizations require the capabilities of a solid and feature-rich disk array system. To fill that requirement, IT organizations must choose among many enterprise disk array (EDA) products by defining appropriate comparison criteria and evaluating them against the capabilities of an EDA. In this product profile, Research Director Gene Ruth assesses the capabilities of the EMC Symmetrix V-Max disk array against the Gartner EDA selection criteria. Although no one-size-fits-all approach exists, this assessment provides Gartner's perspective regarding the applicability of V-Max in large-scale data centers.
